Would three 10" Dcons be comparable to 1 15" Icon.

Both with a Sundown sax1200, in a 3.5 cu box

I could be totally wrong but I believe 3-10s would sound louder because it has more air movement... But the motor is obviously stronger on the Icon.. Might be a little louder with the 3-10s.. Are you porting the enclosure??

Let's start over. What are your goals and space limitations? We know the amp.

I have a Mazda tribute SUV havent taken any real measurements but Im trying to stay under 5 cu total.

This will be a daily driver. I want lows but not a ton of SPL. I dont plan to throw more the 1500W into this system since its my first.

Ok, 3 Dcon 10D4's will give you a 2.67 load, or 3 Dcon 10S4's will give you an even 1ohm load. 3.5-4 cubes, after port displacement, will be good for the Dcon's and the power will be good if you set the gains correctly.

No problem. Ask if you have any more questions.

If you haven't already purchased the 1500D then, If I were in your shoes, I would save a little cash and pick up one of the smaller Sundown mono blocks for a little less cash. A little overhead is never a bad thing as long as your gains are set correctly, but saving money is never bad as well. I would also go with the 3 10's ported. Good luck!
