Goal is to have a SQ front stage.

Plan is to have carbon mids on the doors. Tweeters will probably stick to my Bravox and add a few more.

I dont want to leave my rear doors without any speakers so I will prob replace the factory and place a pair of carbon mids there. So far, I dont have plans on putting tweeters on the back doors yet.

At first I wanted 8" drivers for midbass, but looks like the carbons will be able to do that job. Thats where I see them benefiting from the extra 50watts from the Leviathan. Prob going to cross them ~63hz

I thinking about sticking to 2 amps for the mids/highs.

My question pretty much is, what other benefits does the Leviathan have (besides 2 extra channels and more RMS) that makes it a better option than the 100.4?

I would love to go for 2 Leviathans and have extra headroom to work with, but there is somewhat a high price difference.

What do you guys think?

Foot print, efficiency, assembled in the USA and power are part of the reason for that higher price for the ZED.

I've been thinkin' of the Leviathan for a front stage setup, so I'd say if $ not an issue go that way. Have no reason to back that though.

Foot print is a somewhat heavy benefit. 2 more channels to work with without having to run extra power/ground wires for an extra amp.

Efficiency, I thought sundown was underrated as well? with good electricals (like their class D amps) they perform better than what the paper states dont they?

Assembled in the USA, even though I dont know how much this benefits (I know! not in China makes it good enough already!), I always heard made in the USA is the best way to go.

Quick out of topic question, where are sundown assembled at?

So far Im inclined towards the Leviathan. I think it has a sexy look, the review on their website seems to prove leviathan is a monster specially with the right electricals.

Under ratting has nothing to do with efficiency. It is about how much of the current drawn is actually used towards power. Keep in mind, just like speakers, lots of current is lost in heat and resistance. Sundown amps are assembled in a good Korean build house.

Not trying to steer you away from Zed, but may wanna give this a read: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/member-product-reviews/68939-where-zed-leviathan-kronos-reviews.html

First batch had a couple issues with pop noises and protect, but they got that fixed and everyone seems to love theirs.

That has long been taken care of, and it was essentially one or two people that made a huge stink that could have handled it much better. Many people like to whine and bitch and bash.

Good to hear, to be honest I just googled Leviathan to find some reviews and found that. Didn't even look for the date that was posted :ehh:

But everything I've read on SSA, people love the amp.

To the OP, if your still torn between both amps, it wouldn't hurt to check the build logs and find a couple people with the amps and pm them about it :ughdunno:

I heard about the issues. And I noticed they happened a very long time ago and those are gone already. Havent heard of any issues lately.

Thanks for posting it for others to be notified tho!

Im going to read the whole diyma thread. Looks like an interesting one....
