Posted December 2, 201014 yr Basically I'm planning on starting a build pretty soon and right now I'm doing my homework on headunits. I've pretty much narrowed it down to these two. They are practically the same price(JVC is $10 more) and the JVC has a few more features like HD radio, 5V pre-outs, etc. But Pioneer seems to have a better reputation, so I'm not really sure. These seem to be the best two that fit my requirements as I need one that is around $150, has at least 4V outputs, and sub pre amp outputs. So which one do you guys think would be the better buy? December 3, 201014 yr I'm not sure of the infatuation with having 4V preamp outputs.....but other than that, there's really not much for us to go on here considering you didn't even give us model #'s.Either HU should do you fine. Choose whichever has the most features that fit your needs.

December 3, 201014 yr is a CD player absolutely necessary? I recently (two days ago) purchased a Pioneer MVH-P8200BT Digital Media Receiver w/ Bluetooth for a great price. Doesn't have a cd player.
December 3, 201014 yr The JVC has a wider eq crossover and hd radio, while the Pioneer has a better display screen. This may be a better comparison to the JVC for a few bucks more, has HD radio as well so the fight can be fair:Pioneer DEH-P7200HDEither of these will do the job, flip a coin if you cant decide between the two.
