Posted January 27, 201114 yr So I have found some things messing up in my tahoe. I have two 21" death penalty's pushed by a new 40.1 and it is murdering my tahoe. Do I tone it down and go with a ""SQL"" setup with something like a pair of lethal injection 12's or keep going the way I am and have a junker for a daily driver. Or do I break out my 88 s10 blazer which already has a layer of damp pro all over and custom door pods and great kenwood hu in it, just sitting out back wasting away, and build a clamshell wall for it? Only problem with it is it has a old under powered small block 305 in it and when you turn the a/c on it overheats. Could I find alternators and beakers for it? Or do I find a good used 4.3 to put back in it or what? I need some help guys. I can't really keep destroying my daily driver like this.I love driving my tahoe to all the places I work, I travel ALOT for work, and showing of my system and blowing peoples mind. This would stop if I fixed the blazer because it isn't a daily driver with the a/c not working right and the 305 lacking power and still drinking a ton of gas.
January 27, 201114 yr Why not just dampen the tahoe and brace the trouble spots? A layer of damp pro all around isn't going to stop much of the vibration caused by 2 21"s. Until then, just turn down the gain when you don't need it to be so loud. I believe the 40.1 has a remote gain, it would be easy enough to use until you can properly stop the flex.
January 27, 201114 yr isnt that expected having 2 21"s? lol i just got 1 18" and its loosening up shit everywhere.

Like my rear glass something has broke in there the switch, key, or button won't open it, and my sunroof power switch only work in one direction now.
January 28, 201114 yr Author Hers is the blazer and a few things I have done to it for those of you who haven't seen it.
January 28, 201114 yr Deadener on all the panels, closed cell foam, and epoxy everywhere.I know people say don't use multiple layers of deadener, but I have to say my truck is solid because of it. The doors and hatch are heavy as hell. The added mass has helped, IMO. It used to flex a good bit more with less equipment installed. Take it for what it's worth. The closed cell foam helped the panels from squeaking and buzzing. The epoxy helps keep shit from falling off. lol

January 31, 201114 yr Only thing i can think of is raising the tuning... It'll break less stuff, BILTD did the same thing in his astro raising tuning.
January 31, 201114 yr That Blazer is sweet looking! I like the red!Go with what Sir-Lance said and dampen heavily in areas that need it. CCF, MLV and Butyl Rope from SDS would be some great products to help with your issues.
January 31, 201114 yr Loud with 2 21"dp's is much different than loud with 2 12" Li's. So, why are you opposed to turning down the volume but open to a system with lesser output? Also, on the same note, 2 12" wont satisfy you if you can't live without the output of two monster drivers. Since you enjoy what you have at the moment, aside from the destruction, your best bet is to deaden the hell out of your ride like most are saying.
