September 23, 201311 yr Before you guys buy supplements do you research the product to find out how it is made and what affects it has on your body both positive and negative? Do you look for accredited research from various institutions proving that the product does have a positive affect with exercise and with a controlled diet? The only legal supplement that I know of that has been proven to enhance your ability to do work is creatine monohydrate. I ask because I would love to find that over the counter wonder drug just like you all But I see 90% of this crap BS.

The only legal supplement that I know of that has been proven to enhance your ability to do work is creatine monohydrate. I ask because I would love to find that over the counter wonder drug just like you all But I see 90% of this crap BS. Yes, I do do my research. None of us have found any wonder drug or magic bullet. I have been working out WAAAAAAAYYYY too long not to pay attention. There is no wonder drug, only a few things that help little bits here at there. Nitrogen has worked for me and many countless others for pre-workouts, so products like No-Xplode and BuzzSaw are successful for a reason due to combining Nitrogen and Creatine. Burn caps are essentially concentrated caffeine to raise the heart rate to burn a few more calories instead of chugging coffee or soda. I take BCAA's with my gemma-protein, along with omega-3's for the joints and chromium picolinate to make up for not eating meats. No wonder drugs, or unverified or non-FDA approved or gimmicky crap.
October 9, 201311 yr Heads up for C4 Extreme and/or Animal Stak users Thislatest study comes to us from the United States Military and theirdepartment of pathology. Six cases of cholestatic liver injury wereobserved at the Naval Medical Center at San Diego. Dietary supplementswere considered probable as the root cause for three, probable for one,and possible for another. The attending physicians had seen casesassocieted with four of the dietary supplements involved. However, theyalso noted that two supplements, C4 Extreme and Animal Stak, althoughimplicated in the current work, had not been previously linked tohepatoxicity. Mil Med. 2013 Oct;178(10):e1168-e1171. Cholestatic Liver Injury Associated With Dietary Supplements: A Report of Five Cases in Active Duty Service Members. Peterson BR, Deroche TC, Huber AR, Shields WW. Source Department of Anatomic Pathology, Naval Medical Center SanDiego, 34800 Bob Wilson Drive, San Diego, CA 92134-5000. Abstract The use of dietary supplements (DS) is common in the active dutypopulation, often without physician knowledge or approval. DS have beenassociated with drug-induced liver injury, with rare cases resulting inliver failure or death. We report five cases of transient drug-inducedliver injury temporally associated with the use of a total of six DS inactive duty service members. All patients presented with elevated serumbilirubin and liver-associated enzymes: three patients had a cholestaticliver enzyme pattern, one had a hepatocellular pattern, and one had amixed pattern. In all cases, percutaneous needle core biopsies of theliver were obtained and demonstrated a cholestatic pattern of injurywith variable periportal fibrosis. Causality was considered highlyprobable for three cases, probable for one case, and possible for onecase. Hepatotoxicity has been previously associated with four of thesupplements in our cases. For the two remaining supplements, C4 Extremeand Animal Stak, we are unaware of any previous reports ofhepatotoxicity. Health care professionals, in particular militaryphysicians, should be aware of the potential risk of these supplementsand be prepared to discuss these risks with their patients.
