March 30, 201114 yr Author Hmm, maybe its more of a baffle stretched to an end vs a actual pod. Once I wrap it in pleather I could probably screw it down from the back. Or that's the plan
March 30, 201114 yr You look stunning with your dust mask on I hope you were smiling for that picture Can't wait to see your door pods!
March 30, 201114 yr Author Haha thanks, after Tirefryr told me it doesn't do anything, I bought a respirator Me too! Just bought some pleather and foam.
March 31, 201114 yr Author I should have made the fiberglass go all the way to the corner, instead of stopping short a few inches, original plan was to shave it down and try and make it flush... yeah wasn't happening Still need to mount the baffle / pod to door panel. I don't think it came out GREAT, but good enough for now. Time to mount it and move on to next side.I'll post more pictures in a couple days once I get my cross overs in and put the doors back on.
March 31, 201114 yr Looks good.If it were me, I would fill that whole pocket. I think it would flow better on the door.
March 31, 201114 yr Author Ya I agree. Im contemplating filling the otherside and just redoing this one later.I think I will...
March 31, 201114 yr Author Okay so I thought about doing the fiberglass all the way to end of the pocket, then decided I'll try and make it smaller so I can still use the pocket area, and make the edge of baffle slant down... So we'll see how this turns out.If it works I'll redo the other door to match, or start all over and fill the entire pocket...
March 31, 201114 yr Good stuff that 1200 XS power ain't no joke Good shit seeing you jump off the cliff into fiberglassing my setup might look stupid but maybe it can inspire something.I understand what you have planned most likely be cleaner but them D1200's will help out.MDF cradle with MDF piece in back to hold disto and fuse block Edited March 31, 201114 yr by crunkjuice1

March 31, 201114 yr hell yea practice makes perfect! Thanks I just have to switch out that switch with a relay so the voltmeter on distro block turns on and off by itself.
March 31, 201114 yr Author What kind of fabric did you use? Fleece?Just a old cotton shirt, Although fleece may be easier to stretch / work with.

It is what swimsuits are made out of and they carry them at fabric stores (just a heads up).

If my computer didnt crash the other day I would have given more info but that is all I can remember at the moment. Fleece will work but Ponte is much better and easier to work with if you can get your hands on some.
March 31, 201114 yr Polyester grill cloth works as well. Fleece sux imo, way to absorbant for my tastes.
March 31, 201114 yr Author I'm half way through doing the other door, starting to get sick of it, back aches from being hunched over for four hours

Get the 100% polyester.
March 31, 201114 yr Author So I almost finished the other door, but didn't do any test fit to make sure it wouldn't hit the dash when the door closed... Whatdoya know? It hits... Gah, I'm going to consider this a good learning experience. In the following weeks I'll redo both doors, final, for real. Any way here's some pics of the other side, until I found out it didn't clear, LOL.
April 1, 201114 yr How much does it hit by, try shaving down where the speaker mounts if its not by that much?
April 1, 201114 yr How much does it hit by, try shaving down where the speaker mounts if its not by that much? This is what I had to do to my passenger side pod, I just kept grinding it down and test fitting until it fit in.
