im in need of a 3- 4" aeroports at parts express. their kits only go up to a 17" port tube.

what should i do when i need atleast 21-24" of port length? i went to my local home depot and compared the pvc pipe with a 3" areoport i had laying around and they do not match up.

so do i need to order "special" tubing for my application?

thanks!

You can make your own aeroport if you need to out of pvc. It takes some practice.

There are a couple of ways you can do it. Either use a heat gun or a pan of hot oil to heat the end. Then press the heated pvc end onto a mold to flare it such as a bowl. You can flare it as much as you want if you are careful.

Or buy them from parts-express and join the lengths together where needed. There are numerous glues and epoxies that would work.

Good luck.

As stated above Parts Express offers the elbows and straight sections that you can use to make the port lenghts longer.

parts express sells the 3" abs tube in 4' lengths. I looked and can't confirm the ID of the aero port tho to be 100% it will match up. Their tube has 1/8" wall thickness.

I think I remember you asking about making an enclosure for a 15", and if so I don't know that I would use a 3" port.

id just get a psp port and get another tube section and connector. lol when i saw this i was thinking 20" in diameter. :WTFBubble:

hahaha. no not in diameter.

i am using 3- 4" areoports for the 15" yes

i just so happen to have a 3" areoport kit laying around and i used it for an EXAMPLE at home depot to see what the size comparison would be and nothing fit a 3" flare.

so as sefugi said.... basically im connecting the tubes together? like legos you can say? haha

and dbsupra... im using 4" tube not 3"

i see now a 4" x 15.75" size tube for sale at 15 bucks?... jeez... why so expensive?

oh wow. sorry i missed ya klee7013 thats a good idea! madisound seems to be a lot cheaper. parts express site doesnt have parts listed like that!

Thanks!!

No problem i couldn't remember how to spell their name at first had to check back through my old emails to find.

iv bought from madiosound a few times only thing is you submit your order then they send your paypal account an invoice in a day or two

i guess to get the best quote on shipping and to make sure they have the items on hand

I will buy from them again when needed.

Looks like you are covered. I read the title and thought you were looking for a 20" diameter aero, LOL.

That was my first thought as well.

sorry, misread that. I was thinking you meant 3"-4". Now I see you are using (3) 4"

no worries. thanks for the quick response though!

Yeah, buy the flares, then buy a section of pipe.

Lowes has a thin walled 4inch that will work. This is what I use.

do they really? i tried home depot and all their pvc was very different then the pipe psp uses.

ill try checking out a lowes near me tomorrow.

4" thin wall, it is not exact the same, but works fine.

Its rather cheap, I can't remember the price, but very very reasonable for 10ft.

Its probably the closest you'll find.
