Posted April 9, 201114 yr Okay I have the stetsom 5k2e and it only has one rca input.. My radio offers two. I took a y splitter from the radio and came out to one wire for my rca to the back. When I plugged it in there was no sound from my amp. Now here is the kicker I took the 4 channel rca that is going to the rear and plugged it into the stetsom and boom it worked. So my question is how do I test my rca wire to make sure it is getting power I have my dmm but dont want to F nothin up. So please help if you can! Thnx ahead of time!
April 9, 201114 yr Measure the resistance in ohms from one end to the other. Remember rca connectors carry both + and - in one connector so make sure to connect the dvm accordingly. For our lengths it should be zero.
April 9, 201114 yr I should have added that if you do not have any measurement on the dvm then you could have a bad rca connector, wire or both. You should have a measurement on the dvm such as 0.000
April 10, 201114 yr You don't have to worry about polarity for resistance.Check center pin to center pin like edouble said. You can check the outer ring (ground) also. But typically if that is bad it will cause a hum, not no audio.

I also mentioned polarity which is important. You can not check resistance in this senerio if you go from male center pin to outer ground ring or jacket and vice versa.
April 11, 201114 yr My HU, you can turn the sub ports on and off ... I'm shure you've checked that already ... just a suggestion ...
