Posted April 19, 201114 yr http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/showthread.php?t=145049Not a bad idea if you ask meThis is my guide for those of you that don't want to spend the 7-10$ a piece for ring terminals. IMHO the connectors I made are just as good, if not better then a lot of the ones Ive seen.I hope this helps someone, Enjoy. Here are the steps:1) cut a piece of copper pipe into 2 inch lengths.2) put the piece into a vice and squish half of the pipe flat.3) use pliers to squish the open end back to its round shape (rather then oval)4) place in vice again and drill a hole in the center of the flat area. (may need to use a center punch)5) USING PLIERS AND SAFETY GLASSES. round off the flattened end and put a notch into the front of the rounded section.6) put in your 0 Gauge and squish it in the vice.7) using a torch (works best) heat it up and fill the hole with solder. let it cool.8) using shrink wrap (if you can find some) or electrical tape, cover it up.http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5581&d=1231286688http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5582&d=1231286688http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5583&d=1231286688http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5585&d=1231286688http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5591&d=1231286966http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5593&d=1231286966 Edited April 19, 201114 yr by djjdnap
April 19, 201114 yr I wasnt able to view the link but I have seen homemade ring terminals. After discovering Impulse Electronics cheap prices I decided buying them is worthwhile.
April 19, 201114 yr That is a great idea especially if you have some copper tubing laying around! I like to use the cooper tinned marine terminals myself. A heavier duty ring terminal compared to what is marketed for car audio.
April 19, 201114 yr Author yea 68cents for 1/0 isnt bad at all. Most places ive seen is at least a dollar.
April 25, 201114 yr Cool idea, but I just buy mine from Amazon.Way better than the typical audio terminals.$1.56 each

April 27, 201114 yr I like the idea, but either way you have to buy copper. I'd rather just buy them pre-made just in case i mess something up haha Glad that Edub posted that site. I just don't like that they don't show shipping until after your order (email saying how much it is i guess?). Seems sketchy to me.

May 4, 201114 yr On my last order from Impluse I bought 50 1/0, 10 8g and 10 4g. They forgot to send me the 8g. I called and left a message and within that day they called me back and shipped the 8g to me that week. No hassles whatsoever. I bought from Impulse atleast 5 times. Shipping is very reasonable and fast.I also use Impluse fuses and fuse holders that are dirt cheap. They look good and I haven't had any issues with them. In my build log that is all Impluse fuse holders.I apologize for the thread highjack op, just trying to be helpful.

May 5, 201114 yr Cant find the inline holders, like in your second picture. link?Balls, I had a brain fart. I bought the fuse holders here. It is easy to get them confused, one is Impulse Electronics the other is Impulse USA. I have bought from both companies numerous times and I definitely will buy from them again.
