Posted April 23, 201114 yr as i was doing the big 3, i was looking for the engine ground, but it is in a very difficult place to work on, ill have to take a hose, some spark plugs, and other wiring to be able to connect the wire, is there any alternative to the factory engine blocki have a 2000 silverado 4.3L
April 23, 201114 yr Run it from the bolt on the alt to the firewall.I will try to find you a pic here in a min.
April 23, 201114 yr Author yes, i get it, thanks, hope i have enough wire, because my alt is on the other side of the engine, but the factory ground is the same, thanks
April 24, 201114 yr You can use just about any bolt that is on the block to just about any point on the frame/body.I think running a ground from alt to battery is an excellent idea.
April 24, 201114 yr Ground the Alternator ground to the CHASIS! Thats how I have mine and it works best! Do your powers from alt to battery up front.... do your ground from alt bolt to chasis...then do ground from battery front to chasis! Thats how I always suggest to do the big 3 has always been the best for me! Results =
April 24, 201114 yr Author thanks to everyone, hope the big 3 will do a good job until i have enough for a battery, what battery would you recommend, i have a rockford fosgate t1500-1BD and a power acoustik 1000 max 4 channel, this battery will replace the stock one
April 24, 201114 yr Author well, right now i cant afford anything, but i am the kind of person that can save enough money to get one, so xs power is the best, what you think about stinger batteries?
April 24, 201114 yr if you want something nice on the low, look at Deka AGM group 31 if you can fit it.

April 24, 201114 yr xs power makes a great battery, but they are expensive. a lot of competitors are finding that a cheaper alternative is to find a massive agm deep cycle (such as a power ware, or deka) and place it either under the engine if it fits, or in the trunk with a brace to keep it from sliding around.if all you want to do is replace the battery under the hood, any of the brands named will do the trick. it really comes down to cost. with what you currently have, you probably arent going to see a big difference regardless of what you do, unless what you have now is dropping to like 9 volts.. lol
April 24, 201114 yr XS POWER....I have been giving multiple demos with my car off and the 3 d3400 I have are holding up AMAZINGLY! it is worth stacking the money bro do it right the first time!
April 24, 201114 yr Author will a single battery do a difference, because i dont have enough space to even put a capacitor
April 24, 201114 yr will a single battery do a difference, because i dont have enough space to even put a capacitorwhats the biggest you can fit up front? I was able to squeeze in a 3400 in my astro if you can do that they are GANGSTER and not that big
