I've got a set.. should I still use them for my front stage or sell them?

I'd planned on going active with 110w to them.

I'm assuming this is 2-way. How low can your tweets go?

Depends on how high you are running them

If you wanted to run them over 1khz.....I'd look into other options as 1khz is about the highest they can cleanly play.

i can't find the link now, but I remember reading a review that said, basically, they sucked. Freq response aside they said the sound quality just wasn't there. I'll try to dig up the review, its been so long since i read it i don't even remember if it was reputable.

for a mid that is so much like a woofer i would go with Beat and say put it in a 3 way set up, i think there would be a large frequency drop off if you dont.

I think they are a great set of mids, are the better for EXTREME utmost SQ? Yes...but these are sll a good set of mids.

I've heard that they don't do well above 1.5 khz; so expect to use a tweet that goes down to that range and a crossover setting around there as well. I've got a set of XXX's myself waiting to be installed.

I've actually got a set of Kodas sitting and I'm gonna compare them (I have a set of Vifa XT's that can go to 1.5 khz) when matched up to my tweets and IB to see which one i like more.

if your worried about your tweeters not reaching 1-1.5kHz get a pair of horns. You can find a good set of horns for less than $180 that'll go as low as 800Hz...and horns are way more natural than tweeters. thought ive never heard a car set up with horns they pwn in HT. and id imagine it would be the same for car.

there was a guy on AF.com that had a pair and loved them, put one right under the dash on each side.

Can ribbon tweets go that low?

i cant imagine many 0.75 and 1" dome tweeters, metal or textile, going as low as 1kHz cleanly.

I forget on how low the aura's sound good till.. but If the XXX's only go up to like 1.5k.. that's not going to be good enough.

So what are some other recommendations? I've got 110w at 2 ohms and 70 at 4ohms. Size up to 7 inches. price.. uh under 200 for a set.

And I guess these little bastards are for sale now.

Mine are crossed at 2kHz @24dB/oct...and sound great. Don't worry.

The XXX was the worst performer of the bunch (compared to CDT ES07 and Seas G18RNX).....Midrange sounded much like a Hi-Vi poly cone I tested earlier this year... which is to say not that great. Details were very "mushy" and confused sounding, and overall "congested"........XXX above 1khz began to sound "shrill" and raspy,

And how would you know? You havn't sat in my car since I re-set my gains... n00bX. Just cause you hear someone else say something doesn't mean it's correct. I've also changed alot of settings since Erin heard it. I'll let you hear it when I make it down there next, which can be anytime soon. I'm gonna let you have the 20.1 back for a week or so.
