I'm about to upgrade my subwoofer wire to 8 ga. from 14 ga. I think I know its real real small, but anyway when upgrading so I need to run the 8 ga. to connect the voicecoils also? I know I have to run the wire from the subs to amp but not sure about the voicecoils

In order to have the same power transfer throughout the circuit you'll need to change all the wire to 8 gauge.

It won't make a bit of difference, you have 100+ feet of solid strand 14 gauge in your voice coil.

8 gauge is overkill imo. 12-10 gauge should be more than adequate for your needs.

So I can keep the 14 ga. On the voicecoils?

Two sundown z 15's at 1 ohm (soon to be .5) with a saz-3500 a 270 amp alt. with two deka 8a31's in the back.

A guy on youtube was running 8 gauge and said most of the wire wouldnt go in all the way. He metered like 149.9 i think. Then switched to 10 gauge and had a better fit on the terminals and metered 150.1 i think. But he gained db.
