Posted July 29, 201114 yr Would there be a big difference in the output if i go 5ft^3 sealed ,vs ported, so i can fit it in my trunk? Has anyone heard an xcon 18 sealed before and how loud can it get sealed?
July 29, 201114 yr Ported would be wayyy louder maybe! But with the correct airspace. But do xcons work well in sealed enclosures??
July 29, 201114 yr umm... 15" Xcon here sealed... running 500w MAX.... and HOLYSHYTLOUD !!! I vibrate like crazy... How loud do you want it? You could put closer to "rated" wattage and be alot louder ... I'm running on low and it is great!!! :fing34:
July 29, 201114 yr Admin Personally, I love the Xcon in larger sealed enclosures. The 12 sealed in 1.75 was awesome. With the slightly higher Qts of the 18, it is an excellent option for sealed.
July 29, 201114 yr it is amazing.... only problem is I now have NEWER rattles in the trunk that I didn't have with the Icon ported.... FML!! Looks like I'll be inside my trunk once again chasing down the rattles while my friend bumps the system.... YAY!!

(the port would be external) If not whats is the minimum port area required?

August 1, 201114 yr Author This thing is a F@#$%^G BEAST barley turned up, i have to get another alternator my voltage drops to 11, then i can see what it can really doits 4.66ft^3 after displacements, & i want to build a ported box but the ports have to 30 inches long external that will come later if i can fit itim going to upload some videos later too Edited August 1, 201114 yr by marq7890
August 1, 201114 yr holy shit that is a tight fit man... looks god though.. def want some videos...!!!
August 1, 201114 yr Admin Heck of a squeeze. Not sure if you even tried to go ported it would have enough room to breathe. Let it run sealed, that is my vote.
August 1, 201114 yr I gotta tell you... sealed is giving me more shakes and rattles everyday... I tried doing sub up and man was it louder and stronger but holy hell I need to have everything screwed down on the rear deck and roof liner in the back is coming off now... lol
