which would be better suited to a 4th order BP install? mainly looking for input from sundownz since he owns both companies and can give their honest opinion. or if someone on here has used both (which I doubt since the SD-2 are still in pre-order). they can be had for about the same price and I was curious..

Thanks!

All you need is some software to tell you which would be superior.

well, you see thats the problem, I dont have the know how to use said software. and no I will not be building the 4th order either I'm just putting together the parts then a local shop is taking care of the rest..

Do some reading about 4th order bps, then compare the T/S parameters for the sub that is better suited, since the T/S parameters are there to be able to compare woofers anyway.

One thing to remember is programs can only help you so much ....there is alot of variables come into play .." on paper "means nothing to in car real world testing

thats what I thought, which is why I was hoping Sundownz would see this and he, of all people would know..

The SD-2 is a MUCH shallower driver; do you need a shallower driver or not ?

no, Sir. I have the entire back seat and hatch of a Scion TC to work with (there will be 8 of whichever I choose)

It would, however, steer him in the correct direction when choosing a driver to best match his goals. Believe it or not, magical powers are not responsible for the sound created by loudspeakers.

With no depth restriction you can do the OA-12s -- they are a bit beefier.

Just making it simple .people get to caught up in programs

Then you shouldn't be building/having built a 4th order BP. WAY easy to really screw them up and the benefits are typically rather dubious.

what? if the place that's building it is very experienced in their construction (which they are), what does it matter if I don't know how to build one because I'm not building it.

That's like saying someone shouldn't own a firearm, simply because they don't know how to manufacture one.
