Posted August 16, 201114 yr The xtant is a 3 channel amp 75x2 + 150x1 at 4ohms or 150x2 + 300x1 at 2 ohms. The system is going in a Ford 350 dully. The doors have 6x9's.My original thought was to run ID's 2ohm 6.5 comps in the front and doing nothing in the back doors. Then running a single IDQ 10" or 12".Also thought of running 2 sets of 4ohm comps or coaxials in front and back doors.I haven't decided on a HU yet. Mainly just looking for one more geared for SQ and one that will run an ipod.I have plenty of time on this build and am not commited to anything but the xtant 603x. Any thought's would be appreciated.
August 16, 201114 yr Go with a component set for front stage, no rear fill. I never heard IDQ subs, a JL W3 would sound great.
August 16, 201114 yr The 2ohm comps are a joke pretty much, don't get caught up in the impedance/power misdirection and instead just buy a nice set of components that YOU like the sound of. IMO I doubt that will be the ID's. I'd say the same about the IDQ, while it is a more than reasonable driver it is FAR from special and for what you'll have to spend there are more appropriate options.

What have you used that is good for SQ?
August 16, 201114 yr Nearly any non-fart box driver in a nice box can do what the IDQ can and many much better. Of course it really depends on what you mean by SQ as it isn't normally a term we use on the board to describe anything since it is normally subjective and misapplied. Considering you seem to be fascinated with false potential output on the front stage my guess is that the classic definition doesn't fit for you, but if it does then sweet. And by sweet I mean lets focus on the front stage and nearly ignore the sub as that part is UBER easy to get right
August 17, 201114 yr Author Ok, I hear ya. I'm looking for a good comp. set for under $500. I run CDT's in my truck now and I've also used the Massonics MBQ Q line. Not the newest one's and not the Sig's. Both were very decent but I am ready to try something new. I want to find a comp. set with a good mid range and not bright or ear piercing on the highs.
