September 22, 201113 yr Honestly I would pay for someone to design it for you. Ram_Designs and Bromo on SSA will help and are very good. If you want to try to design it for yourself:Fourth Order BandpassSixth Order BandpassI would use MDF or Birch wood for the construction. Birch if you want to save weight. MDF if you want to save money. 3/4" either way.

For just 1 15" subwoofer I would stick to doing a standard 4th order ported enclosure tuned to 30-32hz for your listening tastes.
September 22, 201113 yr Author Lol i had a 7.3 cube box in my trunk before So im hoping i could fit one. Where can i get birch wood and what exactly is it?
September 22, 201113 yr Birch wood is found at home depot or lowes. I don't know what you are asking about what it is? It can be found near all the other wood.

September 22, 201113 yr Just do a standard ported. If you are that far from being in the "know" the end result won't be as good. Trying something new is a horribly stupid reason for doing something unless you plan to do all the design work and are willing to build three+ different enclosures to compare so you can actually learn. Saying that another way, if the try is to learn then carry on. If its to try, then don't.
September 23, 201113 yr Birch wood is ply wood. But you can't get the cheap stuff. It is about $50 a sheet. I might be convinced to do a 6th order design... If you are serious about building it.Duane
January 4, 201213 yr 6th order is more or less a once note strong box no? sorry to bring up an old topic.
January 4, 201213 yr You should just start a new topic. It can be if you want, or don't do it right. They are very picky about getting everything correct. But they can have a flat response if done well.
