Posted January 23, 200619 yr My friend is looking for a SQ woofer for less then 200. Please list some that can handle atleast 800 rms.
January 24, 200619 yr RL-p 12 is about the only thing that comes to mind. Not even a biased oppinion either
January 24, 200619 yr Dayton DVCs, Reference, or Titanics. Well below your price, great performers, but they don't fit your impedance requirements. With 800 watts he's not too concerned with SQ. Good sound maybe, but SQ, not so much. SQL is more like it.
January 25, 200619 yr DAYTON RSS315HO-4 12" HIGH OUTPUT SUBWOOFER -112$ plus actual shippingDAYTON TIT320C-4 12" TITANIC MKIII SUBWOOFER 4 OHM - 145$ plus actual shippingOnly thing i can see being a problem is the amp. You said 800rms at 1ohm from the amp? What amp exactly is it? I can get the Daytons for you and will have quite good SQ. I used the Titanic in a HT setup for a friend and when we set it up i was quite impressed and pleased. The Ref HO have been getting some love from the DIY guys.
January 27, 200619 yr Author Yeah I'm really looking more towards LSQ =)For the amp I'm probably going to get something with 800 - 1200 watts rms @ 1ohm
January 27, 200619 yr Sounds to me like you are defining the "Rlp", DVC 2ohm in a ported box. What amp are you looking at, what kind of car, and what sort of music?
January 28, 200619 yr you havent heard my rl-p ported yet huh? well yea... its louder.we should meet up again.
January 31, 200619 yr just the nuke.... im waiting for the amps, and wood tools to come in money focused on new computer right now lol
February 1, 200619 yr Author I think I might be getting 2x idq 12 for my friend. What you guys think?
February 1, 200619 yr Great SQ subs. They can not handle 800w RMS each. But if you have 400w each they should do great.
March 3, 200619 yr did you end up getting the IDQ? I know someone considering them but we never heard them before.
March 7, 200619 yr ^^^^ yea he got them....from personal experience, the 10's are nice. very nice.gonna get them hookedup soon.
March 11, 200619 yr I just recieved my 2-idq 12's and I do hve to say for $240 dollers shipped to my front door.. not bad my good man.. not bad at all!!!! And for SQ based on my experiance.. IDQ all the way.. If you have the cash then get the ID max but I think 1-10" IDMax is $230 dollers! I`ll take those 2 IDQ's off your hands and orderd you a ID max if you really want!
March 12, 200619 yr I've heard an IDQ 12" ported at 28 hz. Yes they have excellent sq and can get decently loud. If it hadn't been stolen, I woulda kept it for the person i installed it for in his new car.
