Posted November 23, 201113 yr So i just started my build this weekend(tue-wed)for me. The build is simple, not to much to it. 2 Sundown Audio SA-8's Dual 4 ohm1 hifonics brutus 1200.11 xs power d1200 batt. That's all the new stuff i am getting. I already have 1 d1200 under the hood and a 300amp custom built alt. This is going to go with my 2 sets of massive audio rk6 component's and my massive audio 4 channel with a pioneer touch screen dvd3100.
November 23, 201113 yr Author So i started on my box today not too big. Its 30"w X 12"h X 13"d it comes out too 1.47 cubic feet with the port. Its a 2.5"w X 10.5"h X 37.75" of port length tuned to right around 35hz.(pics of the box parts just sitting together no glue or screw's yet)(view's down the port)(and my hand sanded edge for the inside of the port)There will be corner's made just have not gotten to that yet.
November 23, 201113 yr Author This is the after math from when my 2 dd 1500 8's were stolen and my massive audio 3000.1 and where i am going to stick the new sundown audio sa-8's.My massive audio amp on my components. And the back of my jeep audio system to come. Something big and loud not too sure yet.
November 23, 201113 yr Looks like a great start to your enclosure. I have a pair of SA-8s and love them! Keep us updated with progress and lots of pics!!
November 24, 201113 yr Author So i got a little more work done tonight. The box is built and and sealed up.The front face plate painted with blue sound dampening going to get carpeted later. (Any one know a good place to buy carpet)Just sitting in the back of the car with the top plate/amp rack on.I also made side trim parts but did not have time to take pics of them had to liquid nails them up a little. Now just have to wait for my subs and amp to get ordered next Fri. and get them cut into the car. Edited November 24, 201113 yr by holykaos
November 24, 201113 yr Auto Zone has carpet at a good price, try JO-Anns fabric or Wal-Mart as well but any auto/car spot should have some.
November 24, 201113 yr Nice start, keep it up. Do I spy an old '80s model Jeep Grand Wagoneer? I love those things.
November 25, 201113 yr Author Ya its my 89 grand wagoneer. Getting a nice system in it after i finish with this one.
November 25, 201113 yr Sorry to hear about your old system, that'd be a nightmare for me.. lol, where did it get jacked? :/New build has some nice equipment! Tuned in
November 26, 201113 yr Author It all got jacked when i owned my shop back in Nc. lucky for me i was a dd and massive audio dealer and all the gear i had was given to me for shows.
November 26, 201113 yr Author Thanks! Does any one know where i can get a sundown decal about 25-30 in's wide i want to do a trace and cut a card board lay out for under my carpet to give a stand out.
November 26, 201113 yr Author So i did just a little bit more tonight. Starting putting on some of the carpet and ran out of glue.(oh don't use the crap i got)So here's some of the panels out side the car.The box before its covered. The box after all the panels and stuffThe top still need carpet.Almost done just have to get the subs and amp + wiring and the batt.
November 28, 201113 yr Author All my carpet is now done. Just have to cut out for my subs mount my amps one on the top of the box the other on the side panel and run my 0 gauge to my batt.
November 28, 201113 yr i like the stealth look. always been a huge fan of hiding the install rather than flashing it to the world
November 28, 201113 yr I like it stealth too, very nice job! just that orange port seems kinda out of place
November 28, 201113 yr It looks out of place so people (arnt into audio alot) can get next to it and be like "what is that!?" then BOOM! Headshot of pure sundown audio goodness!Jk Great looking build man. I like the attention to details.. Kind of like me Keep it up
November 28, 201113 yr simple.. neat.. clean.and by far very close attention to detailvery nice work im really diggin the "part of the car"look.now only if all elantras came stock like this.
November 28, 201113 yr Author Still not complete it is missing the subs and my amp for them but all you will see is the amp and the front of the subs. and you may not even see the amp depending on how it looks when get it this weekend. And thanks for all the feed back
November 29, 201113 yr I honestly thought you popped the subs in and were hiding them behind some grille cloth. looks great though man. can't wait to see what you think about the install when done. if it sounds like it looks, it'll be amazing.
November 29, 201113 yr Author I hope so, 2 8's with a 1200 watt amp and my 0 gauge is all that's left i make my batt box and got my new alt. in today plus did a little carpet on some exposed metal in the hatch area.
November 30, 201113 yr Author So my 1 of my wire kits got here today(ordered 3 to be safe) Its the e2 E3200 by Scosche i don't think its true 0 gauge but thats fine this system is not pushing to much. Here's the link if any one want to look at it http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7280_e2-E3200-by-Scosche.html
November 30, 201113 yr it looks like better 0 gauge than what a lot of the local places are selling. thats actually a pretty good looking kit.
