Posted November 24, 201113 yr Can someone please explain the Internal Lead option to me and tell me if it's worth the extra $25? I looked in the tech section but the Internal Lead option doesn't seem to be explained in there for some reason. Any help is greatly appreciated.
November 24, 201113 yr I believe the leads are sandwiched between the spiders rather than sewn down to them.

November 24, 201113 yr and it cuts out lead slap, and also i believe the sandwich leads are able to carry more current, as they are a wide flat style, i could be wrong about the current part... worth it IMO i prefer the sandwich leads.
November 25, 201113 yr Author Thank you very much for the insight. I will be getting my Fi Q 15" fully loaded.
November 25, 201113 yr Personally I prefer the new leads, they are not tied down to the spiders. We developed a new spider that is smaller in diameter and has just as much throw which fixes the "lead slap" issues and it simply works better..It leaves greater margin for error than the flat leads do as it seems like every 5 minutes we have to tell somebody about what a subsonic filter is.

You are saying you prefer the internal lead option???
December 10, 201113 yr No. The now "standard" leads with the smaller diameter spiders. It simply leaves more room for margin of error because people can not grasp the concept of what a subsonic filter is to keep things from yanking past mechanical limitations below tuning."lead slap" is not an issue..if it were every single one of the people that run our IB3 woofers in the home theater environments would be raising 8 shades of holy hell because you can hear it in a house WAY better then you can in a car.
