hey everyone. I just wanted to know what size hole was cut in your enclosure to house a 15" RL-p.

If I'm not mistaken on Sound Splinters web page it states that the diameter is 13.85 to the outsid edge of the surround.

So what I did was cut out a hole that measured 13.85 inches.

I put my sub in the box and it wouldn't fit. the whole was about 1/2 inch too small or more.

ten minutes later with my trusty jig saw the sub was in and clearing properly.

what measurement did you guys use to install a 15" RL-p??

they should update their web page with the correct mesurements. (or did I miss something?)

the mounting cutout is 35.5cm so thats about 13.976 inches

That can't be correct. 13.976 inches? I cut mine to 13.85 I even used a micrometer. I then measured it when the sub would not fit and the measurement from one end of the suround to the other was a bit over 14"

now I'm really confused.

Umm, 13.976" is larger than 13.85", no wonder it didn't fit.

And the mounting diameter is listed on the website already....

http://www.soundsplinter.com/rlp15_premium...nformation.html

1" = 2.54cm

What kind of micrometer has the ability to even measure that large anyways?

I know 13.976 is bigger than 13.85. on the sound splinter web page they have 13.85 listed. the whole I had to cut for the sub ended up being a bit larger than 14".

as for the micrometer I measured out 13" on my template and then used the micrometer to add the .85".

Also i didn't come here to argue. In my initial post I admitted maybe I over looked something and was just asking a question. I see where I went wrong now too. I was looking at the diagram in the upper left corner of that page you posted. I missed the info on the right hand side all together.

Read my post right above the one you posted and you will see that I found my mistake. I figure you didn't read my post and that is why you are confused. :P

Thanks for bringing this discrepancy to my attention.

I will edit the diagram over the weekend so that the same thing won't happen to someone else.

My apologies for the inconvenience

No problem. It wasn't a huge deal, and was easily fixed.
