Done with it yet?

Definitely not :) Thanks for asking :)

I will not be going to work tomorrow due to unexpected vehicle problems :( I rotated my tires and broke two wheel studs on the left front, WTF I have been rotating my wheels on my vehicles for over 15 years.

So, I plan on cutting some oak for this project.

Got the enclosures cut. I am not 100% sold that these will look as a good as I hoped, we will see.

A mock-up showing where the speakers and the MP3 decoder will be. Nothing is sanded, very rough finish.

I am going to try and find a dark stain that matches the cones on the speakers.

Is that your name etched in the board?

Yes. My name and date

Love the PC board. I would like to make something like this some day.

Thanks.

Hopefully this doesn't sound like a cheap pair of computer speakers.

I hope these sound good.. They look pretty amazing...

Fwiw, I know that you are not planning on using any filters on the speakers. If you don't like how they sound I can most likely find out what they need with out measuring. Many people have used those drivers so an answer should be out there. (If you are close, (I live in MI) I have a measurement system.)

Thanks for the helping hand. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they sound good enough.

I literally got this done 5 minutes before I gave this to my brother. I had absolutley no time to really demo it let alone test it. I wish I would have.

Based on the 30 seconds I listened to it, it sounded very good. The midrange was a bit peaky but the upper midbass and treble sounded very smooth. It is definitely louder than I expected. I very happy that it doesn't sound like a cheap pair of computer speakers!

I wish I would have had time to take good pictures of it :(

This was my first project finishing wood to this extent. I made some major errors on the stain but I learned a lot from it.

hanks for compliments fellas. My brother likes it very much. I am anxious to get a chance to demo it longer.

This winter I want to build another one. But with much more power and fully tuned.

Fun little project for sure!

Damn that came out nice. He better appreciate it! :P
