Posted January 22, 201213 yr My brother got an SA-8 and may not be able to port the box based upon where he wants to put the sub in his truck. If he decides to go with sealed, what volume should the enclosure be built to ensure the maximum quality output? Thanks in advance for the feedback.
January 22, 201213 yr You're really going to lack low-end if you run it sealed...I'd try my best to port it.
January 23, 201213 yr .5cftI agree with Ryan tho. I listened to mine in a small sealed box once and it wasn't that great. You would be better off with the e8 for sealed. It isn't terrible until you hear the difference with it ported.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.I just went from a .3 sealed box to a ~.63 ported box and its was a very very noticable change.Mine went from barely hearing it in back of the car to my wife noticing when I get home.Don't even bother with it sealed, it kills a lot of the potential the SA-8 has.
January 24, 201213 yr Sealed spec is around 0.25 or so -- but is not the best setup for our 8s.I thought that was for the E8. I stand corrected on that.Either way, I still stand behind all the statements of going ported.
