So i need to set my gain to 24.49v

My multimeter is in AC volts mode and its only reading like .200v... Ugh???

Yeah battery is good as its new

Gain is at lowest right now. However even when i turn to ac volts it starts off as 0.000 instead of 00.00

im using volume 25/35 yes 50hz 0db

Are there multiple settings for AC volts? Or is it an automatic DMM? The DMM I use (from around the early 90's) has a turn dial with multiple settings for different measurements.

It should still be accurate.. just take what ever number is displayed and moved the decimal place to the right.

You need to set the range if possible. Even auto ranging meters will sometimes rang incorrectly.

I fail to see a problem, '00.00' is the exact same as '0.000', the possible precision however is different. Do you have a voltage multiplier on your amp?

Try measuring the voltage at a wall socket and see what you get.

after you select ac, try using the select button and see if it moves the decimal point to 00.00, hence changing the range, its just a matter of finding how you can move the decimal point..

What you are seeing is normal as far as the display reading 0.00ACv.

The reason you aren't getting any amplification is cause the gain is all the way down. You are probably reading the RCA voltage. What happens when you turn the gain up to 1/2, with volume at 25?

Then its probably not a True RMS meter. But it is reading correct. Did you turn the gain up any like I suggested? Depending on your deck you may only see ~.5-1.2ACv if your gain is all the way down.

It appears so.

I didnt have gain turned up enough for the decimal point to move over :P God im an idiot LOL
