March 9, 200619 yr update. This sub is an extreme piece of chit. I had it running for all of 1 day and the voice coil is making huge amounts of noise. Its already blown. I hate audiobahnyu were by audiobahn. lol............... i defy you to burn up that rl-p
March 10, 200619 yr Author The box is supposed to be tuned to 30 hz. 2.5 cubes. I say supposed to be cause I bought the box, did not build it myself, and the guy said "its around 30 hz" when i asked him. Anyways, I am having troubles with the rl-p because it is severly drowning out my boston speakers (unamped). I guess thats what i get for buying an awesome woofer. I just purchased some focal 136k 5.25" components off of ebay to help this out a bit. I will amp them with something like 75-100 watts. Oh and about burning up the rl-p, i dont think that will happen cause I set my gains with a dmm using the sticky in this forum. 800 watts * 2 ohms=1600. Square root is 40 volts, so i set my gain at like 38 volts to be a tad conservative. Does that sound good to you guys?
March 10, 200619 yr Author It seems to be working quite well. I got it refurbed, so it has cosmetic defects, but that doesnt matter to me. I was worried for a while, because I got a dmm to set my gains, and for some reason the crappy dmm i got from walmart said that it put out a max of 20 volts, which is not right. I took the chitty volt meter back and got a good auto ranging one and get it set right at 38 volts. I just got some focal comps off of ebay, and I pmed flakko to see about the us amps is 4085. I would love to get that to run my speakers. DO you know about that amp?
March 10, 200619 yr Admin I personally have not tried that amp, I was thinking about putting on in Amandas car, already a few people have ordered these IS amps from FLakko and all reports have been awesome

THat is a great price!! I just hope the focals are up to what ive heard.
March 10, 200619 yr Author I got the directed 1500d off of ebay for like 160 shipped. It does like 1100 watts rms @ 1 ohm, 800 watts at 2 ohms. I have it runnin my rlp d4 at 800 watts. It pounds the hell out of it.

March 10, 200619 yr Author you mean unamped? yeah, i was just going to get an amp for them, but they areent very good bostons, plus they are old. I got the focals and a good us amp from flakko to keep up with the rl-p. That oughta do the trick. The only other thing I would like to do is to replace the 6 x 9s in the back with better stuff. Any suggestiions? The us amps amp will power the focals and the back speakers @ 85 watts 4 ohm.
March 10, 200619 yr Author hollywood audio lol<{POST_SNAPBACK}>looks expensive!! I was just thinking of some 6 x 9s in the back, or do you reccomend components in back as well...

March 10, 200619 yr Author I guess it was pontless to buy a 4 channel amp then!!lol I will put some good speakers back there just because i have a good 4 channel now.
March 10, 200619 yr Admin Or you could run active in the front and use the 4 channels that way!thats what I am doing (except x2), no rear fill, even though the speakers are still there,
