Posted September 29, 201212 yr this is the box i decided to make for my 2 sa12'sam i ready to cut it out or is there anything else i need to do? and does the cut list take the port into account? or is that a separate cut?
September 29, 201212 yr try it and see if it works... no judgement can really be passed with just specs. it takes experimentation. but from what I see it looks like it should work well.
September 29, 201212 yr Author sweet. just gotta get some resin and ill be good to finish it tomorrow. is there a certain kind of screw i need? and would rubber washers be good to throw on there?
September 29, 201212 yr should i do L-port? or a center port with little L-ports i guess? The way you have it designed in Torres you have to use an L port off one end.If you do center port you will not have 3 common walls and will effect volume and tuning.Only other thing is I'm not sure where you are mounting the subs in relation to the inner port. Have to be careful with loading issues. Looking at the port size it appears you are doing sub up port back.Other than that looks ok.
September 30, 201212 yr Author Resin? Rubber washers?coating the inside of the box with fiberglass resin, for smoother airflow.rubber washers to help seal where the screws are.
September 30, 201212 yr you don't need resin, the wood will have less drag than you will get with the resin. Not that its gonna matter anyhow. The srews aren't gonna leak but if you are concerned put a little liquid nails in after you predrill the hole.

Op, you need to pre drill the holes (straight) for the screw with a smaller drill bit than the screw, then use the screws.

Like others said take the time to pre-drill with a drill bit that is smaller than the shank of the screw. Shoot I even do the countersink chamfer for all of mine. Take the time now, it will pay off later.
