Posted March 25, 200619 yr I had only tried one RL-p 12 in my truck, due to enclosure size limitations, so the second one has been sitting on a shelf calling my name since the group buy last year. I finally decided to build a box for both of them which is 1.60 CF net with 1.5 pounds of polyfill and downfired. That is the largest enclosure that will fit.While 0.80 net per sub is well under the optimum size, the subs still sound surprisingly good. To test the box I used my usual selection of the IASCA test disk, test tones off EMNB, some Dave Matthews Band and a little Van Morrison. I am incredibly impressed with the RL-p and find it to be one of the best sounding subs before you even begin the tuning process. Even in, what is on paper, too small of a sealed enclosure, it is an absolute joy to listen to. This is the 19th different set up for this truck and it will be staying in there for longer than the average. MTX Thunderform with MTX 6500 series subs MTX Thunderform with Rockford Fosgate HX2 Probox 60/40 with RF HX2 Probox with Adire Brahma Mark II 3.5 ft^3 slot vented box with RE SX15 .9 ft^3 sealed Corian box with 2 Adire Brahma 1.75 ft^3 slot vented box with SoundSplinter RL-P 12 1.1 ft^3 sealed box with SoundSplinter RL-P 12 1.5 ft^3 sealed box with RE SX15 1.1 ft^3 slot vented box with 1 Adire Brahma 1.25 ft^3 Precision port vented box with 1 Adire Brahma 1.25 ft^3 Precision port vented box with 1 Alpine Type R 1.15 ft^3 sealed box with SoundSplinter RL-P 12 1.5 ft^3 ported box with SoundSplinter RL-P 12 1.85 ft^3 (gross) ported box tuned to 34hz for a SoundSplinter RL-p 12. 1.83 ft^3 (gross) ported box tuned to 29hz with two 3" x 26" ports for a SoundSplinter RL-p 12. 1.55 ft^3 (gross) slot vented box tuned to 38hz with 21 sq inches of port for an AudioQue HD10 1.63 ft^3 sealed box for 2006 Kicker S12L7 Solobaric I still have a 12w7 and RE MT to waiting for an audition however they will sit on the shelf for quite some time as I enjoy this set up.

March 25, 200619 yr Author You mean like a Series-Tuned, 3-Chamber, Compound-Loaded, 6th Order Bandpass for a pair of TangBand 6.5" drivers?Without going with a blow through or taking out the back seats, there is a very limited amount of space in a Dodge Ram QC. The box has to fit in an area where the OEM center console goes and still retain full use of the top section of the center console. That significantly reduces the available options.

The box has to fit in an area where the OEM center console goes and still retain full use of the top section of the center console. That significantly reduces the available options.ok..i wanna know how to design that.....for say a pair of L7 8's?but for real, how/what do i need to learn to design that enclosure?wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
