Posted November 27, 201212 yr Hi, I'm looking for your experienced recommendations, for a good efficient 3000+ RMS bass amp, it's to power 1 15'' 3000rms Fi SP4 D2 sub and keeping in mind I have a low budget(hope to spend a lot less than $600), car has already all the electrical upgrades. Thank you. Edited November 27, 201212 yr by argenis69
November 27, 201212 yr Used may be your best option. Hard to find that many watts for much less. Oh, you can try Pyramid, 10k watts for like 250.00.
November 27, 201212 yr I'm not sure about this but how about the Crunch GP3000. I've seen them go for anywhere of 350 to 500 used. People SAY they will do 3k but i'm not sure. Just throwing the option out there.Edit: also don't buy a shitty amp just to have one. Save up for a good amp like the crescendo bc3500. You will be much happier in the end. Maybe borrow an amp from a friend or someone that way you can have some bass while you save. Gotta feed the addiction Edited November 27, 201212 yr by tbPerez
November 27, 201212 yr Look for the Crunch GP3000. I had one I paid 350 for used and it was a great amp. They pop up from time to time.
November 27, 201212 yr I looked and 500 was the highest but I'm pretty sure it was barely used. Just keep looking on different forums.
November 27, 201212 yr I'll be checking, please let me know if you hear about it, thanksCheck your pm I sent you a few links.
November 28, 201212 yr Just because the sub is rated for 3kw doesn't mean you need to purchase a 3kw amplifier. What is your intended use for the system? If this is a daily driver you could easily save some $$ by going with a 1500w-2kw amp and not hear bit of a audible difference.
November 28, 201212 yr Author wow, that is a relief to know i have another option, i am using that sub for a loud a clean bass
November 28, 201212 yr There is another option of buying an amp thats rated around 1/2 the rms of the sub and is strappable, then later when you have money buy another one and strap them together.
November 28, 201212 yr There is another option of buying an amp thats rated around 1/2 the rms of the sub and is strappable, then later when you have money buy another one and strap them together. And spend twice the amount of money for how much of an audible gain..... ? Little to none? Not to mention the sub is a D2 he'd have to run the strapped amps at 4ohm since not many are going to be stable at .5ohm/amp and it's simply unnecessary in a daily system to push the amps that hard, so there'd be no gain to a single amp at 1ohm or a strapped pair at 4ohm.Save your money. Get an amp in the 1500w-2kw range. Be happy.
November 28, 201212 yr Author ok, thats good to hear,so, I there going to be a real difference in sound if a put a 2k rms instead of a 3k rms amp for a 3k rms rated sub?
November 28, 201212 yr ok, thats good to hear,so, I there going to be a real difference in sound if a put a 2k rms instead of a 3k rms amp for a 3k rms rated sub? That question has been answered many, many, many times. If you doubled 2k to 4k you would be 3db louder in a perfect world, but you have to factor in power compression and technical term, etc, etc so you might get a 2 db gain which would be slightly louder. Given your scenario from 2k to 3k I'm going to say no, you will not get a real difference.
