PAC also makes an aftermarket Bluetooth that hooks up to any factory or aftermarket headunit. You could spice the phone to the speaker and mic wires on it and still be able to Bluetooth your phone.

Update: car needs a tune up so I am slowly working on that. Also, while under the hood I noticed the cars wiring harness to be very brittle and is crumbling easy. I ordered a new one and will be replacing that soon. Other than that the car is in great shape mechanically.

I have been slacking on the audio side of the Merc. Some quick updates: I did remove the cellular phone and I recently purchased a Pioneer 80prs. I will make sure to get some pictures of the cd player install. It should be an interesting time taking the dash apart!

Those panels have torque screws holding them down. Don't yank on them.

I finally installed the 80PRS today. The installation went well, the factory radio was very easy to remove and the pioneer slid right in. The harness utilizes the two factory amplifiers so I am able to use the time alignment features. There is a popping noise when I turn the car on/off or switch sources. I believe this will go away once I install an aftermarket amplifier. Also the radio keys for the PRS would not click in right, so removing it is going to be a joy.

Looking good.

Looks too futuristic, need more buttons. :)

It does look good in there.

:phatyo: Newer head units look badass in older model cars, so far so good.

Thanks everyone. Amplifer plans have changed. I picked up a JL XD600/6 and XD 600/1 for a great price. The 600/6 will go in soon. Not sure if I will use the 600/1,

So I did some more work on the benz today. IB is out of the question, way to much trunk modification needed and the gas tank is behind the back seats. What I came up with is a spare tire enclosure. The spare tire area is huge and I can easily get 1.5 cubic feet out of it. So I am thinking of a 12" ICON or XCON. I will build the enclosure first and then figure out which woofer I am going to use. Deadener is on the way for the trunk.

Amps are here as well. Holy crap I did not realize how small the JL XDs were. The 6 channel is smaller than a piece of paper. It even fits in the emergency kit spot on the rear deck.

Yeah they are awesome little amps. It will not be going their permanently. The factory bose system has two amps mounted in the trunk. I am going to utilize the stock mounting locations.
