If i have stock alt a kinetik 3800 and a kinetik 2400, only one AQ 2200 right now, i was wondering if my ascendant mayhem 12" dual 2 ohm could handle that?

If you have to ask.....

I was wondering if with that electrical and 2 AQ 2200s's if the mayhem can take that beating on the daily?

All my wiring is all 0 gauge, I'm just thinking if i should have 2 AQ 2200's for daily on the single mayhem tunes to 32Hz or One AQ2200, and one AQ1200?

Running an aq2200 and aq1200 to the mayhem at same time??

Yeah think i should have 2 AQ2200's or have one AQ2200 and one AQ1200 power the sub, my single AQ2200 bump it hard but not enough for me.

You can't have 2 different amps together. The 2 Aq2200's could do it, because they're the same amp.

What is your box like? Maybe your box is the problem? Give us some info on the box (size, tuning, port area, placement in vehicle, etc.)

My box i have is the same cutsheet from the Fi Btl. That NDMStang65 made, BTL 12 2.45 cubic feet @ 32Hz. Sub is in trunk facing the trunk. Thats what i have for the single 12" mayhem. Would the mayhem handle 4400 watts though? or is that too much? i want the top of my car to flex. As of now my cars front license plates flex and windshield wipers, and rear window break light is cracked to shnit, and thats off a stock battery and alt and no big three as of now, i do have the kinetik batterys ready to be put in.

Flex might be cool, but that's something you don't want lol It decreases output. Well at least we know your box is good. I really don't know if the mayhem will take that power or if it will and how long. That's something you might have to ask AA. That's a lot of power to put to one sub. If you don't know what your doing you could blow that sub VERY easily. If you do put that much power you would want to make a smaller box. You want more output, correct? Do you have room to add a second mayhem?

I have room for a second mayhem yes, but I wouldn't know how to make a box for two, I know it would be a L slot port it would be a walled one side to side like | | but I wouldn't know the cutout for one, do you? :)/> but then my box would have to be behind the passenger and drivers seat facing up front since trunk won't be big enough

Wouldn't be a L port I mean

adding power wont increase output dramatically. waste of money adding another amp, imo

Then get another mayhem. There are plenty of people that can help you with designing a box. I'm not the best for designing yet lol

if you cant design a box then i doubt this install is going to go well. take a step back before you damage some expensive gear.

So adding a second sub will make the bass louder and then just hook up 2 amps two each sub?

If I were you, I would do this:

Get another mayhem and strap the amps together at 2 ohms. Run mayhems to the strapped amps. Then build the biggest box you can fit. Have someone design you a box on here though.

I already have a thumping system I just want to upgrade to be louder lol, when I get my taxes I'm getting a 270 HO dc Alt. I have one aq 2200, kinetik 3800 and a kinetik 2400, so if I add another 12" mayhem I would just need another design for a box for 2 12"s tunes to 32hz, and have one aq on each. So then the bass will be louder? And also have a xstacic bat cap 400. My dad has one it's nice!

That'll probably be louder than just doubling power.

what's wrong with the current system?

That'll probably be louder than just doubling power.

It will be considerably louder than just doubling power. Here's a couple of screen shots I did for a very similar discussion awhile back. The first demonstrates the difference between the relationship of cone area and applied power. It shows two of the same series of speaker, rated for the same amount of power, the top one (yellow) is a 10" and the bottom one (red) is an 18". The graph shows the 10" with 1500 watts and the 18" with it's rated 250 watts of power applied. Notice it took 6X the power for the 10" to achieve about 3dB of gain. That's an EXTREMELY inefficient way to make a noticeable difference in output.

Now notice the second picture here and how much louder the 18 is over the 10 at the same power level. There are WAY more variables in this discussion than can be easily covered and definitely more than can be shown in a couple of quick examples but I think this will help visualize the point. More power is the least efficient and most expensive way to get more output, period.

powervsdisplacementexample1.jpg

a mayhem would take that power easily if you know what you're doing

Sure, it might. The bold, italicized and underlined words are the key and by the rudimentary nature of the questions at hand and the information we're being given by the OP I really do not think he fits in that category of people. As a matter of fact I would imagine that there is a relatively small percentage of people who honestly do fit in that category and I know for certain I am definitely not one of them myself. Not to mention the fact that whether or not it's possible is not going to help the OP in any way. He wants to be louder and the BEST way to do that is increase his cone area and even better double everything as has been suggested already.

2200 watts should be enough for your sub to be loud. Did you try to change the box placement ? Try to fire the sub through the cabin, maybe.

4000 w ? That's a lot for a single sub on music. For an spl burp it should be ok, but I would not do it for everyday.

I had a btl on 1500, and then tried a 3000 w amp. I could not really notice the change. When I tried another box I had much much better results.

first box : sub up , port through the side, @ 32 Hz

2nd box : sub up, port up, @ 34 Hz : way louder. It is in a hatchback car (Toyota Auris 4 doors).

I sold the 3000 w amp, and now I run 1500 on the sub and love it !

Good luck !

Add the second AQ2200 and strap them @2 ohms. From there add a second sub and put them in a custom enclosure. I'm a fan of subs up, port firing back but I'm not a builder so hopefully some others can chime in.

do the big 3, install your batteries you have sitting around first and then install alternator. Once you do all that and its stil not loud enough then add another sub and amplifier.
