December 7, 201311 yr Any estimate what you'd charge labor wise to swap a small block in an Esky?Small block?Or did you mean short block?Year and drivetrain info would help. not sure I have ever seen a 2wd Escalade, but I never saw a 2 door Grand Cherokee until last Wednesday. What generation? I never knew about a 2-door Grand Cherokee. 2-door Cherokee XJ, yes...the escalate is a 4dr comes in 2wd and awd
December 7, 201311 yr In line Mic, table, or a boom Mic is a better solution than getting them all in one.Overpaying for an attached Mic is really silly. All depends on the usage. If it were for use with just a computer with the available jacks I understand. But I use mine for both console and pic so the mic had to be USB and software compatible.
December 7, 201311 yr Really all I want one for is gaming and some music from the phone when im not at the comp
December 7, 201311 yr Really all I want one for is gaming and some music from the phone when im not at the compI then recommend Logitech in general. Their cheep ones are still awesome
December 8, 201311 yr Any estimate what you'd charge labor wise to swap a small block in an Esky?Short, was distracted lol. 4wd for sure to minnesnowtaSmall block?Or did you mean short block?Year and drivetrain info would help. not sure I have ever seen a 2wd Escalade, but I never saw a 2 door Grand Cherokee until last Wednesday. Year? I'll assume a 2010. Short block is around 23.5 hours, long blocks are around 20.5, and complete assembly with transfer of parts is about 15.5. Most shops will tack on a couple hours for clean up and incidentals. Labor estimates (less additional issues that may arise) would be $2270, $2005, and $1560 respectively. Awesome, thanks. Gives me a really good idea of what I'd need to do to make it an upgrade over what I had. We are at $89/hr on domestics FWIW.
December 8, 201311 yr Also means I do NOT have time to do it. Anything that is more than 4-8hrs at a pop gets tough when I have to double it for being a n00b Easily double The front diff assembly has to be removed. It is easy on a lift, but not on your back.

My shop actually specializes in Jeeps (among other things), so we see a ton of them. We are so well known that the local Jeep dealers send us the Jeeps that they can't figure out. We are also the only shop in town that does t-belts on the TD Jeeps. The dealerships bring them to us.
December 8, 201311 yr My boss owns several businesses. One of them is a scooter shop (who is becoming a Triumph dealership as of Jan 1), and they are downstairs of one of our buildings... the one I work in, in fact. I have gotten to know the mechanics down there pretty well as I help them with electrical diag when they get stuck. One of the guys down there saw my vape and he got all excited about it. He is generally very quiet, and even though I have known him since July I think he has uttered 10 words to me. But we got to talking about it. He is a huge vape guy. He brought in several of his pens and a home made pipe he has for vaping. He has several that I really liked (one is a $250 pen), but one that he had was really killer. I think I might pick one up. It's threads are much more common than my Halos, so I can play more with tanks, clears, carts, atomizers, and vaporizers. I stopped at a local vape shop today and bought an adapter for my Triton (the big fucker) to play with, but his Joyetech was badass... It is a variable voltage unit with a digital display. It tells you the voltage, the resistance of the head and recommends a voltage setting based on this measurement, the number of puffs taken, and an estimate of the number of puffs remaining on the charge, and it tracks your usage (which is cool if you want to slow down) and it also has updatable firmware, and you can open the base unit and replace the battery if it goes dead so you don't have to buy an entirely new unit. It is a total fucking badass. At $100 it seems like a steal to me. I may get myself one very soon. He asked what I vape and I told him I was totally new and was still just vaping tobacco. He brought me in a bag of about 40 different e-juices to try, and an atomizer so I can drip them. So I have a shit tone of flavors to play with, and honestly I am surprised at how much I enjoy the different flavors. So far I think that Backwoods Brew's Applewood is one of my favorites. I would never have thought that I would enjoy it. My absolute favorite right now is Halo's Voodoo. It has a unique flavor that tends to change. I also like Vapornine's Rad Bull, which tastes exactly like Red Bull.

I didn't want to dump too much in at the beginning but now that I know I'm done smoking I'm thinking about it. I have tried a red bull one that is pretty good too. I was a menthol smoker and can't find a tobacco juice that I like which is part of the reason that I failed the first few times that I tried vaping. I have been using cool fusion from freedom smoke daily and I really like it, but I need to find something else for every now and then when I get sick of it.

They are a bit pricey, but I have tried 4 of them so far and all are great. I am not a menthol guy so I can't help you there, but I tried some of Halo's Kringles Curse today and it was quite menthol like. I was surprised that it wasn't sweeter than it was, as I have heard a few people say they thought it was too sweet.

December 8, 201311 yr Assuming I buy an Escalade, options seem to be: Dyno shop build the motor & install FI -Pros: Should be done right -Cons: Most expensive and time consuming which hurts on a DD Order a short block, pay a local shop to flip it, install FI myself. -Pros: Cheaper and way fast -Cons: Not sure I have time to do the FI and everything else I want to do. If not, more $$ Have a local shop remove the motor, get it built, and install FI myself -Pros: cheapest -Cons: motor won't be as stout as if I buy a small block Not sure really what a used L92 short block in a running car is worth.
December 8, 201311 yr All of them are cheaper than buying the car in Texas since it isn't what it was supposed to be.
December 8, 201311 yr I actually like the stock caddy wheels better than those too. Really didn't want 24" winters....if they are even made.
December 8, 201311 yr You are making me want to vape.My coil on my kanger went out tonight after the vaper store closed so I bought a pack of cigarettes (only because I was going to be drinking). This is the first time that I've had a cigarette in 3+ weeks and I honestly didn't enjoy it. I'm going to buy a 5 pack of coils tomorrow and now I'm certain that I have 0 desire to go back. The e cig is cheaper, doesn't stink, tastes better, doesn't make me cough shit up, and is supposedly not terrible for you. I was 99% sure that I was done with cigarettes but now I'm positive.
