Love the turbo whistle.

It's not audible inside :(

Because of a broken exhaust manifold bolt, it makes a tiny flutter sound if I load it, just when the turbo vanes close to make boost, that's the only turbo noise I hear

What happened matt?

Driveway collects ice.  When it melts and rains my basement fills.  Rain is usually ok unless it's days on end.

Driveway is maybe $3000 to mudjack.   Might not fix it.  $6000 to do a partial repave.. still ain't a fix it if the foundation is a problem and the water table is the real reason.

So when I have 10k to roll the dice I might.  This summer I'm going to cut a hole and see if I can see the gap under the concrete.  When I did things to divert water, it helped, so I think that if in can fill the gap with a concrete/sand slurry I'll be ok.

  1. WTF?

Hips hurt so I'm whining a lot.

Spiral staircase with dry vacs filled with water is a mother fucker.

Doc didn't refill my Humera as a nice little surprise, I might be having a behind the scene flare up.

Speaking of Miata, I can't wait to get all the new suspension parts. Switching from 20 year old worn out shock mounts to the newer model, which is supposed to reduce NVH and improve steering response and also switching to some fancy MCU bushings which further reduce NVH and improve steering response compared to rubber bushings.

You had me at replace 20 year old shocks.

:)

My co worker got a Miata. I am jealous of the fun he has in it.

THats some bullshit right there. I have lived in a place that did the same exact thing.

@///M5 or anyone with the answer. Is it necessary to glue the foam to the enclosure? All the pieces are wedged in pretty tight. No automatic alt text available.

I find myself constantly stuck in situations where the easiest thing to do often requires the hardest work from me.  Sounds like I engineered my life poorly but at least I know how to make smart decisions once I'm in the shit.

I like that 3M spray adhesive.  If you don't have any I would bet a few really well places staples would do it.  Heat and vibrations make different materials move differently over time.

That said.... probably ok?

What kind of foam?  I have only ever seen  insulation used.

Or my memory is going along with the dog.

Lined it right up with that speed stripe on the ceiling.

Is 5/8" acoustic foam to absorb reflections. I have polyfil to place in there to slow the flow.

Does it help?

About to cut the fiberglass insert into pieces. Then off to the dump.

Going to tile?

I've had the lay-out drawn on the ceiling for a year now. Ever since I bought the glass door. lol

Shitty thing is there's loose fill insulation in the attic.

Doing 16" slate tile with a ledger stone wall accent. kinda a cross of these two. like the first one, but with the tile and stone from the second one.

Above a certain frequency it changes reflections to heat, so yes.

I feel for you. Wife went the pharmacy for her injections, and our insurance had lapped. Was some crazy amount w/o. She about cried thinking about having to go without.

@j-roadtatts

We're you asking about joiners?  Make a few of these and use soft brass tubing if you wanna get crazy.

Save a ton on the joiner and the biscuits and it will be nearly tenon strong.

I love inexpensive little easy tools.

I'd fasten it in some fashion.

Fair enough. Honestly was more curious if there is an acoustical reason to glue it, opposed to just stapling. Don't want spoon fed, just have spent my research time elsewhere and wanted to save time researching. So asked here!

Thanks R2 :)
