Mine did that here and there too. I used the federal ammo with the copper jacket, and that helped alleviate some of the build up.

I use federal. It's just old. Hasn't been cleaned in ages. I use it to shoot rabbits around the house.

Great workout.

How about a Taurus 738 TCP?

Bah, I suppose it isn't quite large enough.

Only Taurus pistols I have are a 850, 650, and a three inch judge.

Depth would likely be 1". I'm trying to make some stall bars: http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/1190/stallbarsdbarclay12.jpg

Hopefully glue and screws will make up for any small differences between the indentations.

Get a set of forstener bits. You should be able to find a cheap set st the home store for about $20. They will drill flat and work faster than a wood bore.

Perfect, ordered off amazon.

I'd make a jig/guide.  If you can clamp your drill in a vice and slide the board up to it or the like.  Goal is to keep it perpendicular and centered.  Any drift and things won't mate and will look lik

e crap.

Hmmm. I can definitely clamp the drill in a vice, but can't imagine keeping the board perpendicular (8' long).

Too big of a hole to plunge route?

The router I have is fixed. Guess this gives me a reason to buy a plunge router. Hole is 1-1/4"

That'd be a HUGE router bit.  Forstner set is your best bet.  Be nicer on a press to guarantee the angle, but just be careful.

I'll just have to go slow, should be alright.

famous last words.

Another 50mi lunch.  I'm a sweaty fucking mess.  Really wish the temps would drop.

What's the current temp? Temp here keeps jumping around from 40s to 70s. Got use to 30s, then 40s, and then jumping to 70s and I'm sweating like a pig. Then I imagine summer riding in 100s. *headshot*

Never messed with any of S&W stuff. Had problems with their shot guns and we never messed with any of their stuff after that.

This is probably my favorite pistol.

I wouldn't buy it... Little more money and you are in M&P territory.

M&P, glock, and XDm are my top picks. And they are in the 500-600 category new. You get a great kit and the ability to either costomize or replace parts easily.

This is for home defense right? If so buy the largest physical she and you can handle. Compacts are not your friend, full frame is.

I paid $250 for mine with a leather wallet.

It would be cool to have at that price.

I just wrote a lengthy post spilling all the details I could about home protection and firearms and decided to delete it.

If you want to know more, I will get into it, but getting caught up on equipment and theory is no good. Buy a quality firearm like the M&P, and a truckfull of ammo and shoot the shit out of it. That is the most important.
