October 28, 201410 yr I have a problem when it comes to buying ammo. Today I bought 4 more boxes of 525ct 22LR for 16.99 each and another 200 rounds of 45 for 32.77 per 100.
October 28, 201410 yr Might pick her up a Ruger LCP 380 in purple for Christmas. That'll help make her happy about all the ammo! I'm starting down the same road myself. Already have an old break-over barrel style 20 gauge shotgun and like 1,000 shells and I just bought a Colt M4 .22LR (for $300 new) and almost 2,200 rounds of ammo for it.
October 28, 201410 yr I have one of those Colts and the Mossberg version. They are fun plinking guns. As for 22Lr ammo I am real close to 12k
October 28, 201410 yr I found a website, www.wikiarms.com that has been really handy finding BOTH ammo in stock and at as low of prices as I've seen anywhere. But I haven't seen .22LR anywhere for that ~3 cents a round you just found that ammo you mentioned buying today. Damn that's cheap.
October 28, 201410 yr I have a former mechanic who opened his own shop and he gives me cost plus a couple dollars on ammo. When he orders in a case I buy at least 4-6 boxes and the rest go to other customers.
October 28, 201410 yr The big chain stores can't keep it in stock because everyone goes there, the little shops are the place to find good buys. He has 2 cases of the CCI 325ct boxes on his shelf and 1 case of 100ct Winchester.
October 28, 201410 yr That's one thing I like about the wikiarms site, at least you can see the prices and stock status in as close to real time as it can get.
October 28, 201410 yr I only ever got a good buy at a chain store once. I just happened upon the boys stocking 22 ammo at Dick's. American eagle 40ct box for 2.49. They limited me to 30 boxes.
October 28, 201410 yr I was just browsing that site and their prices are a bit high. The Remington 1400ct bucket goes for 79.99 where I buy. I have 2 of them.
October 28, 201410 yr Yeah, it's not the BEST prices, but with the constant updates on stock status and prices it makes it easier to catch a decent deal. Especially for someone like me who is just starting to assemble my arsenal and who doesn't visit the local stores on a regular basis. A few extra dollars for the convenience doesn't bother me. I was also never in the habit of buying anything back when you could get a 500+ round brick for about $10. So the prices aren't bothering me any cuz I don't have a prior reference.
October 28, 201410 yr Thanks man, I appreciate that! Now I need to figure out a great reason to head out your direction....... hmmm
October 28, 201410 yr Still waiting on Aaron to want a break from the city life because I know he needs to sling some lead!
October 28, 201410 yr Chop and Chuck were trying to come visit for the Haunt, but life changed their plans. So maybe you all could come visit for a behind the scenes tour.
October 28, 201410 yr Still waiting on Aaron to want a break from the city life because I know he needs to sling some lead!I'll be doing that on the first. My .45 needs some range time with the recent influx of 'less than desireables' around here lately.J
October 28, 201410 yr The dog is doing much better, last night when I got back home she got up to see what I brought in plastic bag.
