June trip is booked. Going to visit Krawow, Auschwitz, Prague, Bratislava and Vienna.

Sounds like fun.

Auschwitz is a serious mind fuck. You will NEVER forget it.

We have a hotel room booked in the nearby town. So we have a full day of visiting planned for it.

I'm concerned my girlfriend won't be able to take it if it's such a mindfuck. She wasn't too enthusiastic about visiting Auschwitz until her boss told her it's a must to visit if we go that way. My girlfriend's father on the other hand was very excited for us, he's a history nerd biggrin.png

Sean please feel free to tell me I am wrong for asking, but Adrian if you could take aome extra photos for us, I would really appreciate it. Your vacation sounds like something I hope to embark on some day.

I'll take pictures, just have to remember to post them. Recommendation for visiting is at least 3 hours. We have almost a full day prepared. Going to visit Schindler's factory too, that's why we are stopping in Krakow.

Seth and other mechanically minded people...

How would a superglue + baking soda repair last on a radiator end tank ? Stupid previous owner had the end tank gasket repaired, hammered a few tabs too hard and cracked the end tank.

I fixed a crack in the overflow bottle (it's pressurized, unlike petrol engines and leaked quite a lot of coolant before the fix) and it lasted nicely over the last 200 miles but it's a different plastic.

I've the same repair an intercooler end tank, so similar pressures, oil instead of coolant and lower temperatures, it held nicely.

I can't say, Adrian. Pressures aren't really high, and if you did it and it held on the overflow I assume it would work, but without any real experience I will have to claim ignorance on this one, my friend. Sorry.

Bwaaaaa, nobody wants to help me bla-bla-bla laugh.png

It held on the overflow, I mean I was supposed to leave the house, quickly sanded the crack, added superglue, baking soda, repeat 3 times to make a big patch, change clothes and drive. No leaks, no x hours to cure. Last I recall the overflow cap has a 15psi valve. When squeezing the top radiator hose I can't feel much pressure.

I have the old radiator from the Miata, I can use it to test how well the mix sticks to radiator end tanks.

Slightly related...if I buy another used radiator, I'm afraid of transmission cooler failure. What if I just ditch the in-radiator cooler and use a normal radiator for the transmission?

Dependson the plastic. Polyethylene, nothing will work. A hard nylon, or ABS and you'll be okay.

Ironically, I have some potting epoxy and used it on the Camry rad tank before I sold it. Held for the last few weeks I drove it.

Just thinking about it gives me a slight chill up my spine. We have a holocost museum here in DC that I have visited, and while they have artifacts on display and some reproductions, it still sticks with you. I can only imagine what the real thing will do.

Finally get my new DSLR tomorrow. Next on the list is some further upgraded glass.

The FX (full frame) body works with both FX and DX lenses. The DX body I had before, does not work properly with FX lenses. Hence not buying FX glass before. Now that restiction is removed and I'll be looking around.

Weird video, but good background music for work.
