Posted January 27, 201312 yr I am going to try to put together the drivers I am working on here in this one topic. I'll try to give all the info that I have available including expected t/s parameters, price, ETA, ect. This first one could cater to the SQ crowd. It's designed to work in pretty small sealed and ported enclosures. It will be available in 10, 12, and 15 inch models. Below is the expected 12 inch parameters.Projected specs. 12'' subRe 2.06 (series)Fo 32.82Qts .4686Qes .5022Qms 7 (estimated)Vas 23.01 litersBL 17.19 T/Mxmax 22.5mm one way @ 82% BL or ~27.5mm @ 70% BLRms 10.29Mms 346.1gspl 89.8 @2.83 volts750 watts rms COIL8 layer flat copperID 76.657mmOD 85.83mm20 gauge copper30mm winding hgt213.9 turnsAND A RECOMMENDED PORTED ENCLOSURE1.5 cubic feet Fb 29.6 hertz F3 26 hertz Pemax 1072 watts ripple 0 DB CUT VIEW OF MOTORThis is a MMAG so you can see the two top plates. The silver are Faraday rings. As you can see the coil will be engulfed throughout its entire stroke.I have samples coming with the Ethos order in March. As long as everything comes as expected I will have a production order on this model for July. It should fall around the $350 price range. The faraday rings add about 40% to the manufacturing costs of the driver.2ND MMAG DRIVERThis is a very very stout 270mm (11 inch) OD motor. It,ll offer a daily or SPL option. I also have a sample of this motor coming with the Ethos production. Edited January 27, 201312 yr by Quentin Jarrell
January 29, 201312 yr Author This is the final sample I have coming with the Ethos production order. It uses a 3 inch 100mm long 8 layer flat aluminum coil with an Re of 1.75 ohms. That gives this motor a BL of 34.8 and a motor force factor of ~692. To their knowledge this is the largest 3 inch coil that precission has ever made. the motor uses two 270mm OD x 25mm thick magnets and a 50mm thick top plate and bottom plate.
April 4, 201312 yr Author All these samples will be in shortly. They are being machined as of last week.
April 28, 201312 yr Author The designing on them have been completed. The samples for them will come with my next production order.
