are there any plans to bring back another 8v deck? if not I want to hold onto my 8053

:huh2:

Yeah :-/

At least I can trust their 5v rating.....for now.

i bought a new 8445 from last yr. i had one of the indash units that had 8volt.. but from what people say, its overkill to have more than 5 or 6.. i dunno tho, always thought it was better for the signal and allowed for less noise.

I have the 8053 8v HU...it likes to put out 10v at full volume LOL!!

want high voltage, use the speaker outs and solder RCA female ends on them.

I want to install my BLA, but I worry that my Orions will not like it. One of these days I am just going to have to go all Zapco and Symbilink it all.

x2

i dont even know where people go the idea that power cables introduced noise into RCA cables. your frame is just as big of a conducor as your power cable.

most noise is ground loop and alternator noise.

You forget to apply my #1 rule:

1) Most people are stupid.

Using the BLA with the 8053 is supposed to eliminate ALL ground interference.

I toyed with the idea of going with an indash DVD unit.. but I had trouble finding something that gave me the control I have with the 8053. I'll never sell.

Check their second to top of the line model (cd5000)

good catch george, then that would be the model for me!!

  • 2 weeks later...

having no 8v h/u's to druel over isn't a big deal to me. what's more upsetting is seeing so many of the other big name companies like alpine and pioneer not even using 4V preouts on many/most of their products. to me 4V is the minimum i'd work with

Pioneer's lower lines use 2v :(

when i was installing amanda's amp i was like "Why the hell am i having to turn the gain almost all the way up"

2.2V actually.

Even with my 8443 with 8V preouts i still need to turn the volume up past 1/2 to get it somewhat loud.

Its super clean though.

:fyi: folks.. Saw a used 8053 go for $450 on ebay today. those that have them.... hold onto them!
