August 4, 201312 yr My trouble is getting an enclosure to give me more output down lower. Tried a few enclosures that sound great in other vehicles but not so much in mine. Trunks pretty small.
August 12, 201312 yr Author Im hopin front firing works that out. Granted they are small trunks and the box that does fit seperates it from the cabin almost entirely..lolRear deck porting is like the only other option it seems.
August 12, 201312 yr I love the build. It's coming along beautifully! On the rivets thing, do you know how to airbrush or know someone who does? With the right airbrush work you can make the car look like the riveted panels of a plane with little to no trouble. I have a friend who does some amazing airbrush work. For example he debadged and removed the little strips of trim from his '69 Camaro then went back and painted the badges on the sides of the front fender with his airbrush. Everyone who looks at them always walks up and touches it because it looks 3-D and so good it's like the badges are still there. Here's some of his airbrush work. I figure if you or someone else can do airbrush work as well the plane look should be a breeze.
August 12, 201312 yr Author Well I thought that at first. At the cost, I could actually install rivets in a patchwork pattern.I dont wanna be so preventative of the paint either being a daily driver and all.Id hate to put a guy on all that for a plasti dip finish.A wrap is probably pricey too. Some pin striped seams to give it that panel look is about all a paint guy would need to do.IDK.....Im gonna scope a nearby customs shop that does sick airbrushing too and consult the whole idea.
August 12, 201312 yr That's kewl. You hadn't made mention of the idea so I thought I'd toss it out there. Still loving the build though. All those wire hold downs, loom, etc. make it look absolutely amazing. If it sounds half as good as it looks it'll be a win for sure!
August 14, 201312 yr Is it sick that I get excited everytime I get a notification for a new reply to this thread? I love this install.
August 14, 201312 yr Is it sick that I get excited everytime I get a notification for a new reply to this thread? I love this install.I can bring my Malibu to you and you can replicate it on your free time if you would like Wasn't sure how those pods were gonna look but I like em! As always I'm tuned in and taking notes.
August 14, 201312 yr Author Wellll it is gettin to be winter so indoor projects are nice...loltemp install the Levi Im thinkin....now Im gettin stoked. The excitement is contagious
August 14, 201312 yr Author Theres that clean and simple look....doesnt look too customized so to say...Just after that cozy feeling interior planted in the psyche. As quiet as the damn thing is I feel like a friggin corpse in it. Granted the window seals become more apparent as Im deadening. Road stuff is its own torment but I will get a lot of it gone.
September 6, 201312 yr Author Staging from mirror to mirror and center is dialed. Some actual tuning and I can depth further. Not too bad for initial set up.The sub is amazing.....havent heard one this good in a while.Still waitin on stuff to tackle midbass but rest of the door build is its own project.Got something on the way to finish face of box.Gonna polish up pods and tweet placement. So far so very good.
