Posted April 7, 200619 yr They jacked that logo from X men !Not bad looking for just protectorsAA Poly 6.5 on the left DD W6.5 on the rightDD W 6.5 on the left AA Poly 6.5 on the rightDD W 6.5 on the left AA Poly 6.5 on the rightPhase plug, looks like its part of the cone but its notDD W6.5 weighing in at a whopping 4lbs 15ozAA Poly at a measly 2lbs 1ozAA Poly 6.5 7" basketDD W 6.5 6.5" basketP.SThese suckers MOVE...wowzaThey put the DD's to shame. At higher excursion you get tinsel lead slap, but you have to have them turned up pretty loud.Lower volume's its fine. The reaason being is because whoever designed the terminals is an idiot. They put the + on one side and the - on teh opposite side. They left the tinsel leads to long. The leads come directly off the coil, not through the cone like most woofers. Thats why they hit.
April 7, 200619 yr Author dope. we'll see how they compare to the extremii.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I cant wait !
April 7, 200619 yr Wow, yeah those tinsel leads are totally retarded. YOu should contact AA about it, see if you can get a change made and help em out. That phase plug is teh purdy tho'
April 7, 200619 yr me likey, me likey alot. Though ported will take up alot of room, maybe it will stop the slap. Another thing you could do is glue some felt where the leads are hitting the cone. The coak's i got from Flakko had that done between the tweeter and the cone. realt phase plugs FTW. get some vid of it getting stroked
April 8, 200619 yr Author suweeeeet....if you x them over at a higher point, will the noise be there?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>There is no noise. You almost have to get it to dance on the back plate to get them to make noise. They just made them to long, thats all
April 8, 200619 yr I can't wait to see a review of these next to the Extremis... Mainly in the sq category. I'm still debating with myself on what to put in my next home/dorm setup, dual extremis, or these.
April 8, 200619 yr Author Just remember that the extremis are 3x the price. But that could be for a reason....
April 8, 200619 yr the cone feels REALLY REALLY flimsy... although i do like that flat black look to them and hte phase plug is realy cool
April 8, 200619 yr my dynas with prwan them. lol that sweet man i bet they sound sweet. you should get a AA sub off ca.com.. going around..
April 8, 200619 yr Author my dynas with prwan them. lol that sweet man i bet they sound sweet. you should get a AA sub off ca.com.. going around..<{POST_SNAPBACK}>They prob do, but they werent $35 each
April 8, 200619 yr Is that actually a real phase plug? I can't tell whether that glue is just holding the cone to the former or if it's actually gluing the "phase plug," Which would make it nothing more than a dust cap. They look exceptional for $35 drivers.

April 8, 200619 yr THey but the terminals on oposing sides to distribute weight and tension evenly...You know.... FYI.The leads are indeed XLong
April 8, 200619 yr Just remember that the extremis are 3x the price. But that could be for a reason....<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Not really. The extremi took more power to smell. That's about it.
April 9, 200619 yr Author Is that actually a real phase plug? I can't tell whether that glue is just holding the cone to the former or if it's actually gluing the "phase plug," Which would make it nothing more than a dust cap. They look exceptional for $35 drivers.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yes.I tried to focus it but i just wouldnt work. When i saw pics i thought the phase plug was fake and was just glued on the cone. The distance between the 2 is very small, thats why it looks that way.
