I have one positive run to the back. Will that support  a 3500d?

I have a 3400 with stock under the hood. I am thinking another 3100 in the back.

All grounds are to frame to avoid chopping the car up.

it will, but of course two is better.i suggest around 200 amp hours for daily.

Two runs of 1/0 awg, both pos and ground. Run a D3100 in the rear. Two runs will be plenty and then some in case your system grows and you decide to strap another 3500d

Never a reason to run separate ground wires 99% of the time.  Waste of money. 

 

Normally, you make your electrical system worse by running the separate ground...

ground to the frame in the rear and do the big three well and you will be set.

Can someone please explain this to me? how does running separate ground wires make your electrical worse?

The frame can carry alot more current then two runs of 0 gauge.
