Posted April 4, 201312 yr I was planning on purchasing two RF P3D2 12's (600rms each) in a ported enclosure and need help on picking the right amp for them. I am stuck inbetween the RF T-1000.1 which has a posted 1000rms and the RF T-500.1 that outputs 500rms both at 2 ohms. The problems is that RF apparently under rates their amps and i've seen some "birth sheets" of both these amps going over 100rms-500rms of the posted rms on the RF website. I don't want to over power these subs or under power them too much. Any help for choosing the correct amp for these subs would be appreciated.
April 5, 201312 yr Go with the 1kw. Don't rely on birthsheets, they likely aren't very accurate. And a couple hundred watts in either direction at that power level isn't going to really matter.
April 5, 201312 yr Author Have you already purchased the subs? If not, there are better options. No I haven't bought anything at the moment. I was looking around for good quality subs for a reasonable price and I came across the P3's and the Alpine Type R's. What would you suggest for around the same price?
April 5, 201312 yr P3's have come a long way... Not far enough to top a type r or other subs in the same price range. In my opinion...
April 5, 201312 yr You need to go check out the new P3's I'll take a SA over it, but deff not a type R....
