Also anything around the house that needs gluing, loctite is perfect. Just don't get it on your hands because its hard to get off.
April 26, 201312 yr i personally would not use the super glue, i also have never used it.. so. but i do use amazing goop the blue one tube. and make sure you take some sand paper and scuff up the dust cap surface you will be gluing
April 26, 201312 yr Author Ok, thanks for the tip about scuffing the dust cap. Ill try the goop out. Walmart, lowes, or Home Depot would have it right?
April 26, 201312 yr Author I couldn't find the amazing goop anywhere. Might just have to use the loctite. It won't hurt anything will it Edited April 26, 201312 yr by bcst86
April 26, 201312 yr amazing goop is at auto parts stores like oreilly, auto zone ect. CA glue works, but for me it makes the surround have white spots.
April 30, 201312 yr CA glue can be a little brittle, but for cone to dust cap there isn't a ton of stress and flex and it will work fine. If you can get Loctite 410 that is best, it is thicker, gap filling and black. Places like Fastenal usually have it. Look for a Loctite dealer in your area. You only get white marks if there are oils for the CA vapors to solidify on. Clean everything well (with something that won't melt your surround, I use Windex) and you won't have any white marks.
April 30, 201312 yr Author i havnt had a chance to get anything yet, but hopefully today I can get some of that goop and try it. ill post later if i get some and get the dust cap back on
