Posted September 7, 201312 yr So I'm about to build my second sub, but I'm stuck on which dustcap to use. I originally ordered the Carbon Fiber dustcap, but ended up getting the Poly dustcap as a freebie with an order I made. After placing it on the cone just to see what it looks like, I'm starting to wonder if the Poly dustcap actually looks better? What do you guys think? Go with the Carbon Fiber dustcap, or the Poly dustcap?
September 19, 201311 yr I say poly, but if all you looking for is a personal opinion on looks, and nothing else, then really, it's whatever you like most. It's your sub, your choice. If there was a big performance difference between the two parts, then go with the better performer. Up to you I guess. Really, I would liken this to asking which color should I paint my car? red or yellow, I have enough of bothversusI just picked up a new engine for my car, should I leave it n/a with a carb to make 210 hp, or should I put on my complete turbo setup that I already have and make 310 hp? I guess make your decision based on which question you want answered.
September 19, 201311 yr Is that an underhung sub? Or is that some hellaplush carpet lol. Edited September 19, 201311 yr by gprestonmoto
September 19, 201311 yr poly looks better unless you planning to put something on the dustcap then maybe CF
September 19, 201311 yr never thought I'd say this- but the poly looks better than the cf in this case.
September 19, 201311 yr The reason I think Poly looks better is because the cone itself is already woven, poly breaks it up. Looks savage.
