Posted October 19, 201311 yr Has anybody used these? Interesting specs - XBL^2 motor design, copper coil, 3 shorting rings in the motor, high xmax. You can pick two of these up for $519 plus shipping(?). For car audio use they look like they ought to be good SQ subwoofers with good low end extension in the right enclosure.
October 19, 201311 yr I think they look fantastic and have given them a lot of thought, but just don't fit my needs at this time. I forget the specs now but IIRC they work in decent sized enclosures. They were supposed to be coming out with a pretty stout 15" version that had my interest as well, but last update I saw they were having supplier issues.
October 19, 201311 yr They did, the Subduction line has been around for a while. That 12" is their recent redesign of the 12" model. They had a new 15" model in the works, has yet to come to be though. Here is the thread from their forum: http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/creative-sound-solutions/34213-sdx15-mk-ii.html
October 19, 201311 yr Author My front stage is going to be, by shear coincidence, all CSS.Their tweeters and mids look fantastic. I would have a machine shop trim the mounting flange on those mids though.
October 19, 201311 yr Flange on my VWR's isn't bad. Actually had to notch the mounting hole about half the flange width to make room for the terminals.
October 19, 201311 yr I loved my ert26 tweeters and wanted to buy another pair until I seen they were discontinued. I was looking at the 15" a while back as well.Brad what drivers will you be using for your front stage?
