Need to start contacting some companies soon so i can figure out with this new vehicle i have if custom springs are possible or if i'm stickin to to custom air this time around.

I really dont wanna do air as i didn't allocate space for that..

Moog

eibach

No place on the frame to mount 2 small compressors whth a small air tank ??

We are planing for everything to be attatched to the frame on mine, but I'm only setting up air for my rear suspension and my bed cover ...

Please refresh my memory ... What vehicle do you have ??? Was it at Finals this year ???

it wasnt.

It's the same as liljestrand's, 2008 scion xb.

I had originally planned on running air again on this car and mounting it all under the cargo floor because there is lots of room there.

However, once i started building the wall, i no longer have access to inside cargo floor so all fasteners would need to stay outside of the vehicle..

There is no framework to attach to on the outside unless you create your own.

Also, with 4 runs of 4/0 going up through the cargo floor dead center under the car, i only have half the width to install a tank.. and with currently no place to mount it.

Ironically, pancake tanks are too big.

I have found a decent 2gal tank but i think i want to do something a little different..

In my last install, i had independent air lines because weight distribution is never equal.

So.. this is what i'm thinking if i do air-

2 air struts, each on their own line ran to their own compressor.

Air spring reservoirs are so small that any compressor can air them up quick.

You know you wanna do it the right way. Just go with an air valve manifold and just go all for corners with full control. Perhaps this will change your mind?

The right way is to go air but I had MANY issues with air the last time because I had no reserve.

Its either 2 small compressors or springs..

Already contacted national spring...

So mount a tank in your engine bay some where. There has to be room some where. You seem to be interested in the right way at least.

What about onboard air? Get an old AC pump and use it for air?

No A/C compressors will pump oil out with the air.

I think that would be bad for the shocks.

Alot of construction trucks have engine mounted compressors ...

Back in the day they used A/C compressors all of the time ... Never had any problems with oil mixed with air ...

I'm sure that today's A/C compressors will cause this oil / air mixture ... Someone explained that to me the other day about newer A/C compressors not being able to work for Air Ride systems ...

You might try (if you have room on the engine) some of the old construction truck junk yards for old school compressors ... I know where one is about 30 miles from the house that I may hit up when I get my truck back on the road ...

It won't work. The air is not recirculated. If you lose air you will also be losing oil causing the compressor to burn up.

My old bucket truck had air tanks installed ... Is that not good enough ??

It had air brakes and a service tank ...

I have my 5 gallon tank ready to be installed but gave thought about running off of the engine and not use battery operated compressors ...

That york will work for air, but not the new style compressors that depend on oil circulating with the freon.

Can't check it on my Blackberry ... I will get to it as soon as I get home.

It's ok. I was able to quote you and it showed the entire link and I was able to copy/paste it.
