Posted February 10, 201411 yr OK. So I've recently come into a little bit of money (retroactive pay from finally getting a contract). So I booked a trip to Disney world for the FAM and still have a little kicking around so...Was debating either getting: a new subwoofer, a new shotgun, or finishing off a tattoo on my ribs. So, if I went with new subwoofer, I would be looking at a 15" subwoofer, dual 2 ohm coils. I will have 850 watts on tap at 1 ohm (PPI sedona 850.1) and an enclosure that would be 4 cubic feet tuned to 33 hz.My question I guess is will any of the following do well in this enclosure:1: SSA gcon 152: IA lethal injection 153: fi ssd 15Enclosure is already in the vehicle with an re sex 15 in it at 2 ohms. I am happy with this set up. Just always wanting to try everything?
February 10, 201411 yr That's a tough choice out of subs, guns or tattoos lol I am obsessed with all those!! You can't go wrong with any of the 3. All 3 companies have proven to be some of the top companies in this industry. I can say the Gcon is an amazing sub though. The Gcon so far is the second best sounding sub I've heard. The only one that I feel beats it is the Xcon, so SSA is doing something right. Make it fun for you. I would write each sub on a piece of paper and randomly pick one! Like I said you can't lose. The most important part will be the box. Make sure the box is designed and built correctly.
February 10, 201411 yr Author Well. I think new sub may be losing out in my mind... If I do though, the box is already built and in use... That's why I was wondering which would go well with the enclosure I have.
February 10, 201411 yr Then maybe a new sub isn't the best way to go. Is there anything you don't like about the sub stage right now? Usually switching subs with same size, same box, and same amount of power will not be a bigger difference in output.
February 10, 201411 yr Author Power would go up. Would be going from dual 4 coils to dual 2 to maximize output from my amp. Happy with what I have. Just always wanting to try everything... But likely going with the shotgun option.
February 10, 201411 yr Author Well, dilemma solved. Just picked up a mossberg 535 pump. 3 barrel combo in mossy oak breakup camo.No new subwoofer for me.

February 10, 201411 yr Author Updated in the gun thread as well. The store gave me the 835 ultimag not the 535. Pretty damn happy right now. Anyway this has gotten off the topic of subs. Thread can be closed. thanks to those who helped the decision (bassink,Quentin,Steve). In the end I am satisfied with the choice. Edited February 10, 201411 yr by nigel
