All I'm wondering (having a blow though in a 90's chevy) is how much do you think the owner is willing to cut out of his cab to make that LARGE port fit ??? EDIT: Cant type for some reason. April 25, 201411 yr Author External port. He said he had 18.5" tall to cut, so we good on room. This is a lot better than the "typical blow through" thats built by local shops or "pros"... Just a ported box in the bed and cutting just about every square inch of the back of the cab out. Designed a box for a guy about a year ago and had a friend build it. Guy was originally running 4 HDC3 15's in a "blow through" (ported box and a massive hole). Designed a 6th order for 2 of the 15's. Went from a 143 to a 149, with 2 less subs...
April 25, 201411 yr Gothca. Yea, I like the idea of cutting just enough for the port also. Just not so sure I'd cut 18.5" out of mine. I think my max height cut was 12" (give or take an inch, but close). Carry on brother !!!
April 26, 201411 yr I don't think hell be able to cut 18.5" out of an obs cab. I cut 15.5" out for a blow through and that was kinda suspect. That low in the cab and the metal is corrugated and the accordion boot doesn't seal well, below the window is a boxed out section to cut- I replaced it with a length of 2x4 square tubing

May 5, 201411 yr Author No reason to brace the rear ports. They are VERY solid.Ive been building furniture and boxes for almost 10 years now. However, ive built roughly 90% of my boxes (around 150) in the last 2 years.
