November 20, 201410 yr Author So far with the new box it seems to get louder the lower the note, this thing is loving the mid 20s. 25-26hz is pretty wild considering what I have, My SSF is at 23hz. The top end seems to roll off in the 50s. Adding in the extra filler to drop the net volume down a bit seems to have helped the xcon keep its composure, but it didn't seem to make any difference in freq response.

January 25, 201510 yr Author The swap took twice as long as it should have because I had to make new charge wire from the alt to the little junction box bolted to the side of the bracket. The stud on the new alt wasn't in the same spot and the original wire was too short. Still a cake walk compared to some alternator jobs out there.As for future plans, I will be drilling some holes in the cargo floor somewhere so I can ground to the frame. The rear battery is currently grounded to the bolt that holds the factory sub and I only drop to 13.5v on heavy bass lines. I need a better ground as the bc3500 will be running at 1 ohm soon. I'll be building a new box and running a single 18. It's looking like another few weeks before the sub comes in so I should have time to get everything ready for it.

Nothing unique or special to it. Plus I broke a few panels. Looks like ass till I replace them.
January 28, 201510 yr Author Made a little more progress today. This is how my rear grounding point looked, up until today. Pretty sad for a group 31 and a bc3500 but voltage didn't drop any lower than 13.4-13.5. Got to making some holes and running some wire. Hammering on some copper lugs. Cleaned the frame, bolted the ends on and sprayed some rubber coating. All back together. I ran two ground wires but am only using one at the moment. The second is for another battery in the future. Voltage holds 14+ pretty easily in the cooler weather right now. If I really beat on it I see 13.9 for a split second. Definitely time well spent.

January 28, 201510 yr Author I just used plasti-dip spray. I figure if it can hold up on wheels and direct sunlight, in the shade should be no problem. No salted roads here either so that's also less to worry about.

January 29, 201510 yr Author Damn those things are heavy! Makes the Diehard Platinum G31 look small.Wiring to .5 ohm on the BC3500.I learned the value of a clean signal first hand today. Not the hard way either. Wired at 2 ohm I could get the zcon to warm up after a good beating. Now at .5 ohm it can get more brutal and it's not even warm at all, while paying attention to the voltage and sub control of course. After adding the two hc3800 the voltage hardly flinches. February 11, 201510 yr Author Had to tame some rattles on the rear hatch. Glad I did, the sub stage blends much better with the front now. Bare skin Push clips with a little CCF to keep them still. Hard to see, but there is some pieces of CLD in there. Giving the panels a CCF treatment of their own. Closing it back up.
