This build is a labor of love.  My father encouraged me to do what I love no matter what other people think of it.  When I was 14 I got a ride home from a high school guy that worked for my dad and he had 2 12" pioneer subs in his Grand Am.  I was hooked!  I wanted everything to have bass.  I am going to be 32 this year and my father has fallen ill.  He is currently in the hospital with pneumonia and a pulmonary embolism.  Laying there on the hospital bed he asked me what my plans were.  Thinking he was giving me the life speech... I stumbled out some words about how work is going well and how I've been saving up money now that I have a car I paid for in cash with no payments.  He said, "No, I meant what are your plans for your next system in your new car?"  I couldn't believe it!  He actually listens to what I am saying when I go on and on about audio components.

TL;DR My dad is sick and wants me to continue doing what I love.

On to the build.

This is what I am starting with.  2004 Pontiac Vibe in Burnt Orange

Dont worry about what everyone else is doing, just make sure you build an efficient enclosure and your good to go. I wouldnt put 3500 watts on a sub for daily but to each its own.

  • looking real nice!!!

This is as far as I got before the plastic roller broke.  Pro-tip: Use a wooden roller when applying deadener!

I am really impressed with how easy this stuff goes on and how well it works.  I have never used deadener before and after this experience, I will make sure to use it in every install.  Good stuff.

I went with 35/5.  Very happy with the results.  Picking up the BC2000D tomorrow after work.  Hopefully I will get word tomorrow also about the alt and wires.  Anyone ever order a DC Power alt?  How long does it usually take?  Also same questions about Execution Audio cables.  So far, I am most impressed with Sky High Car Audio's shipping turn around.  Super fast!

Takes about 2-4 Weeks for the Alt

Damn, I wish I would have known that when I ordered it.  They didn't mention anything about it taking that long.  :(  I guess I will save that part for last.  Thanks.

I called Execution Audio today and they said that my stuff should be delivered tomorrow.  I was never given a shipping order or tracking number when it shipped so I don't know who dropped the ball there.  Hopefully tomorrow I get the rest of the cables and I can start wiring this stuff up!

Those JBL comps look nice, actually want to try a pair myself. :fing34:

Get them on Ebay.  I picked up 2 sets for 129 each.  Cheaper than anywhere else I could find.

Build is going to be really nice! I love the way crescendo amps look! Can't wait ti see the final build.

I'm gonna need a bigger table!

Two spools of Zero for the power runs and Big 3. 1 spool of 8 AWG for the sub.  2 spools of 12 AWG for the components.

4 AWG Sky High for the 4-ch amp.

A couple more 0-0 fused blocks from Sky High.

The best part is that I now have everything I need to start installing.  I can't wait for Saturday! More pics to come.

Today is the day for progress.  Door panels are off, deadener is being applied.  I am starting to wonder if I bought the wrong amp though...  Everyone that posts a video has a 3500 amp on their sub; I just wonder if my BC2000D is going to be enough.

I love my bc2000,try it first it may surprise you

If you decide to give the 2000 away, hit me up.LOL  Seriously- I would run it first,  2000+ watts is gonna pound.
