Hi everyone !

I own a brand new MAzda CX-5 2.2 l Diesel. It's my first SUV, I've never had so much room in the cargo area !

I'm still waiting on a dash kit and an adaptor for the head unit.

I sold a lot of things from my ex car, the Toyota : rca's, power and ground (cca) wires, box, a Kinetic 1200, a DD 9515 ;-) and more....It gave me some serious cash to buy a few items.

Here what I have so far :

head unit : Pioneer X5600BT I need a double DIN unit to keep the screen for the parking radar (how do you call that ?)

Amplifiers : Incriminator Audio 20.1 for the bass and a 3.4 for the mids & highs. (thanks SSA for the Black&Blue sale).

Sub : SSA Zcon 15"

Mids & highs : my old set of Focal 165 KP still with its original passive filters.

Box : design from RAM is coming...

Wires : Knu and Phonocar rca's, Knu 0 gauge power set, and what I already had.

I'm not a photographer, so here are some pics smile.png

Thanks guys.

can't wait ! And I'm on vacations these days...

The dash kit is coming. A friend is geting it from France for me in a few days.

Love the new SUV man, thanks for the heads up on Phonocar since i never heard of them before.

Thanks.

Phonocar is an old Italian brand.

They are the only one who sell adapters for each car we have, dash kit, wire, amps,..., and now those wood rings I found in a serious local car audio shop.

Nice sub choice !!

15% tint. Rear windows were already dark, stock tint.

in a hurry ...before the night, we just took out the stock plastic box to put that ring in. After 8 years, the Focal mid needed a little point of glue ;-)

very bad picture, but you can guess the amplifiers mounted and the Chinese Group 31 battery I will use (it was relatively cheap, and available).
2 shops should receive XS batteries in a few weeks, but they will be 3 times more expensive, and I can't wait !

Today we'll hook everything, and instal the head unit.

Power cable and rca's are already in place.

The box will be done next week. I got the design from RAM.

I still need to find a place for the tweeters !

The Focal filters will take place near the amplifier.

Little preview on the box : I don't think it will look exactly like this. 4 cubic feet @ 33 Hz.

Nice!

Head unit unit in the place ! It was easy to do...with all the instructions coming from a Mazda document I found online :)

I will use the Focal passive filters. I don't know wher are the covers. It's ugly but it will work.

It was too dark to keep working :

But how does it sound?

Still need to secure the rear battery. We will make something for that. I don't want to see any flying battery over (or on) my head.

The tweeters are in the stock location, on the dash. I don't know if I will like them there.

But everything is hidden, as I like, and the head unit stands nice ! I forgot to take a final picture.

I must buy an adaptor for the FM antenna, and another gear to hook the parking detector : I want the screen to show me where are the dangers (even if there is no camera).

There is some more work to do. The big 3 will be easy to do, the alternator is easy to reach on this car.

The box will be ready next week, before the week-end. I hope so :-)

I can't say how it sounds yet.

I turn it on once, to see if everything was ok.

There is work to do. first impression : it is loud !!!

Heck yeah, nice build!
