July 10, 200619 yr This forum shortens links so it's not Loyd's fault. The links work over on CA: http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170068

July 14, 200619 yr Dang, 131.5 in driveby and 149.5 at only 35 hz? you are very good at what you do.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>What do you think it would do at 45 hz?

July 16, 200619 yr almost the sameLoyd L.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>that is interesting. To what would you attribute that to? vehicle characteristics, box impedence characteristics, other?
July 17, 200619 yr Author almost the sameLoyd L.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>that is interesting. To what would you attribute that to? vehicle characteristics, box impedence characteristics, other?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>design, acoustics of the vehicle, port loading mostly..ported boxes don't have to be peaky fart cans the design is within about 1.5 db from 26-46hz-3 on the down side is 22hz -3 on the up side is around 54hzLoyd L.
July 17, 200619 yr Well I know at least the older D2's give one of the flattest response graphs I've seen in a ported box of reasonable size (around 4 cubes for my 15) and tune (30-32 hz). But it seems the impedence spikes a little harder than most, giving larger power variations. How would you rank impedence, port loading (and woofer firing direction), vehicle characteristics, etc. in terms of affecting frequency response?
